My Collection of Drabbles   by Periantari

Gone

The shimmering light of the phial recedes into the distance, leaving me nothing but the memory of your last words, your gentle kiss upon my forehead. The salty tears continue to stream down my cheeks.

Gone is my dear master of Bag End, the one I had risked my life for, traveling to the end of the world for him and the Quest. Gone is his good-natured spirit that I had come to love.

I look out towards the hazy horizon, into the west, but still feel your presence here in my heart.

“Until we meet again…” I whisper softly.

A/N-Dedicated in memoriam to Nivina.
