I was caught off guard. All my energies spent on locating the Arkenstone, and I have not thought that anyone would value something as little as an acorn. Dwarves value gold and jewels, while this hobbit brought something as little value as an acorn all this long way.  What a poor prize for all that he’s been through!

Who would have thought that could have been enough?

Why did I expect otherwise? He had no interest in dwarvish desires.

It’s unlike anything I would have thought.  Hobbits continue to surprise me in many different ways.

If more were like Bilbo…
