It didn’t seem to feel like time could have passed so quickly. Sam noted his master’s discomfort during mid Rethe , even though the days became longer and the flowers were starting to bloom. Spring was rebirth, but to Frodo, it was regression to a recurring nightmare.

Frodo seemed more reserved than before and remained aloof, drawn to himself like he couldn’t even trust his dear Sam. It pained Sam’s heart.

Some things time could not mend. The calendar marked the passage of time, but time could not erase the pain. Hope was fading like the sun setting to darkness.
