This and That  by Lindelea 4 Review(s)

There was but one thing to be done, for some of the wolves were already leaping at the upended coach, some of them tearing at the coach itself, and if any of them should gain purchase, and be able to reach Goldi, on this precarious perch...

Drawing his sword, Farry jumped down, ignoring Goldi’s fresh scream at his peril, and he waded into the fray.

[Why does that part sound like Beauty and the Beast?]

Side Note: I have never read a grown up Farri and Goldi before, or at least in a while.

Author Reply: Thank you for your lovely reviews on these short stories! I hope to come back and answer every one, but I'm hitting the wall for today (I've been reading fanfic for several hours now, and my eyes are about done for the day.)

LOL at sounding like Beauty and the Beast! I read somewhere that there are only something like twelve basic plots that all stories stem from. (I wonder if it's true?) That might explain some of the similarities between diverse stories. Maybe?

Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen other stories about grown-up Faramir and Goldilocks. I wonder if there are some out there, and I've just missed them?

Thanks!

Ah, yes--quite the end for that suggestive dress! Love the action!

Author Reply: Hah! I didn't even have to look to see what chapter you were reviewing! This one was fun to write (even though it sort of accidentally slipped into the chapters of a much longer story, and got extracted to form this one...)

((hugs)) Hope this finds you and yours well.

Adelbrim makes a great young head of escort for a great young substitute Thain and his wife! While Goldi makes an excellent Thain's lady - even if she does want to start Yule early and feels the need to look over her shoulder when she hears the word 'Mistress'. She's a courageous lass and withstood the terror of that night remarkably well - holding off wolves is just the way to spend the early days of pregnancy.

Shame about the dress, though. I imagine Goldi and Farry had a great deal of fun with that! Although it might still be in a good enough condition to play the hobbit equivalent of King Cophetua and the Beggar Maid.

Author Reply: I do like Adelbrim. He's one of those characters that thrusts himself forward in a story and somehow takes on a life of his own.

Do you have any recommendations on reading in Daw's world? Chronologically, by her list, or by publication date? Have already read a couple of gripping tales, quite out of order by any reckoning.

Now, there is a manner of being dressed to the teeth I can appreciate.

Meesh wants me to come down for Easter. I'll have to see if I can get off, of course.

Hope all is well with you and the family.

Author Reply: Goodness, never answered this review. Am killing time, avoiding bedtime because I had too much caffeine today, and stumbled on this.

Anyhow, nice to hear from you! Writing Partner sends her best snores. (Yes, I must be *that* boring tonight...)
