| Boromir is a cow! Boromir is not a cow! Boromir sides with Sam about Bill! Boromir loves Minas Tirith as much as Sam likes Hobbiton! Side note: I feel like Legolas and Gimli don’t talk about wanting to go home nearly as much. I guess because Legolas is already friends with Aragorn, and wants to help him. Though I suppose Gimli does wish for some stone when they get to the planes, and he rather goes on a bit about what he thinks Moria is like. And they each sing a song about their famed kin. Boromir doesn’t. | |

| This is interesting because I do think that both Sam and Boromir shared a love of their homes that went beyond what others might feel. I think that must have given them some common ground if they realized it. Lovely. This always seem to point something out to me that I had missed. Author Reply: Yes - except for the worry that Sam had for his 'master,' they might have been great friends. It's so odd to think that Sam's love of home made him mayor for so many years.
