This is very good. I liked how Finrod had despised his sister at that moment. You have done a great job. Will you be writing more on characters from The Silmarillion? Namarie! Author Reply: Thanks, Nariel - I started a story with flashbacks to the Sil - to the time Oropher left Doriath and went east. But my lack of knowledge of the Sil - though I've read it four times in the last four years - is woefully inadequate for such a tale. I really want to get back to it - perhaps I'll reread that blasted book and try again. I like what I wrote so far, but I got a little concerned... I try to keep my stuff as close to canon as possible... and canon for the Sil is a challenge! Thanks for your comments and your encouragement!

This is haunting even though I'm not familiar with the story it is based upon. Very well written! Author Reply: It is an incredibly sad tale - very short - and one might not realize the horror of the march - but it is as disturbing as the kinslaying itself - perhaps more since Feanor talked his people into defying the Valar and then abandoned them to death or worse. Oh! Hideous tale. But this history colored the Elves from them on!

Yes, a moment of horror as they realize just how far they have fallen in following Feanor's words. Author Reply: With no recourse, in their minds' eyes, Larner. Only to go forward and risk death or to return to the punishment of the Valar...
