Hope. It's such a beautiful word.

Lovely, PipMer.

Oh, darling, this is not the end to hope, but the continuing of it. No hope left for healing in the Shire, but if you hadn't had hope at all of healing, you wouldn't be sailing. You are alive and while there's life, there's hope. It hasn't deserted you. Sam will grieve as you do, but he will understand, for isn't he Hope Unquenchable? You will see him again.

Namarie, God bless you (and you, PipMer!), Antane :)

Author Reply: Thank you for the lovely comments, Antane! I meant for this to be a melancholy type of drabble; I was in that kind of a mood when I write it!

Thank you for reading and commenting!

No, not likely to remain long--he might not make it past October sixth, in fact.

At least Sam was apparently allowed to follow him. I so hope he in fact did!

Author Reply: Yes, I like to think that Sam followed his master into the West.

Thanks for reading, Larner!
