| Greetings! I know this story is approaching its first "anniversary" (and I have read much of your work many, many times) but while deck-ing my own halls with my family today I suddenly remembered this gem and decided to finally come out of hiding. I love your characterizations so much that I have a hard time mentally keeping your fic-canon (even modern day ones like this) separate from the 'purist' canon of Tolkien's work. it is clear to me that you put a great deal of love and effort in to each of your stories, and I wanted you to know how very much I appreciate and admire that. You have done the impossible and made me look forward to Monday mornings :-) I hope this finds you well, and have a lovely holiday season! Author Reply: Hello, Sarah! | This story was a very unexpected, but even more welcome surprise. I didn't even have time to go into real withdrawal after EA2 ended :) You're such a treasure! Thank you! Their first Christmas has to be quite a new experience for the Valinórean Elves. And particularly Christmas decorations. From what I can tell, Germany has nothing on the US in that regard ;) Have to agree with Daeron, it's worrying what our race is inventing. Really wish they'd rather turn their inventiveness to more useful things – what about self-tidying, self-cleaning houses? Imagine all the time we'd have for more fun things then! Finrod seems to be more affected by his injury than he wants to admit. Glad Glorfindel dragged him into being his apprentice and accompanying him; it seems it did Finrod a world of good. This particular installment of the Elf Academy series is a bridging story between EA and EA3 and focuses on Finrod as he recovers from the shooting and tries to find a purpose for his being in Wiseman. | Well, as usual I'm very late starting to read this (blame finals and the end of the semester - I got an A in one class and a B in the other one) but I'm already loving the story. I can just see Finrod playing catch-me in the ice maze. :-) The entire chapter was wonderful. I know that I'm going to enjoy seeing Finrod learn about what Christmas is. | I am loving this series. I laughed so hard about the "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" story. Fiondil, Thank you for taking time to write a Christmas story for all of us. | The best part about this story -- Status: In progress! Whoo hooo - that means there'll be more! Mondays have come and gone. So have Wednesdays and I've been blue. | Oh Fiondil ,thank you, what a great chapter. I was curious of Finrod's POV about Christmas , it is something very alien to him, I suppose. Love to see you back. I was missing your stories.
