While I understand that everyone was wondering about Finrod's strange experience, it wasn't too courteous to talk about it as if he wasn't even there. No wonder Finrod got fed up and walked away. It was a bit unexpected that St. Nicholas once again showed up. He's right, it doesn't matter who and what he exactly is, he came to help, and that's what counts. Even though I can understand Finrod's confusion and need to understand what exactly happened. Glorfindel's behaving like a mother hen now. Really, Finrod is not an Elfling and can take care of himself, even here in our world. That flashback of the day before doesn't change that. In any case, Finrod is slowly learning more about the Mortals and their way of life in general, and about Christmas in particular. It's interesting to see ourselves and our customs through the eyes of someone who comes from such a differenct culture. Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Finrod is full of confusion and perhaps even anger and the flashback hasn't helped. And seeing our culture through "alien" eyes, I think, helps us to put the good and bad of it in perspective, so we see it, as it were, with new eyes and can appreciate (or not) what that culture is and has accomplished. I've been reading as these come out, but didn't realize I hadn't been responding. Shame on me. I love St. Nicholas. And the folk all talking about poor Finrod to his face. Disconcerting, especially when he's in the midst of trying to figure out what's been happening and how he's surviving it. Nice chapter. Author Reply: No problem, Agape. Review as you can. There's no hurry. I'm glad you love St. Nicholas here and poor Finrod indeed. Sometimes people can be insensitive, especially healers when they're discussing a "patient's" symptoms. We'll see how things progress from here with Finrod. Thanks for reviewing. It's very much appreciated.

I love that you quote scripture in this story. Psalm 130 is one of my favorites. St. NIcholas, hmmmm? Wonder who that really was. Author Reply: I'm glad you like the scripture quotes. Psalm 130 is a favorite of mine as well. And perhaps, St. Nicholas is just who he says (or Finrod thinks) he is. Thanks for reviewing, Tari. I appreciate it very much.

He is beginning to appreciate the spirituality of those he's now amongst, and that he is being guarded by the familiar as well as the unfamiliar. Love St. Nicholas's comments to him--what does it matter who is guarding him, knowing that he is guarded, and as a result of that love that passeth all understanding? Author Reply: Indeed he is, Larner, and what matters who is guarding him as long as he knows he's being watched over. That's all that matters right now. Thanks for leaving a comment. I truly appreciate it.

So, Finrod meets "St. Nicholas" again or whoever takes his persona. I like it that you introduce Finrod bit by bit to the customs of the Christmas season. Finrod's friends should stop talking about him like he is not there. I guess that happens when there are too many doctors/healers in one place. But it seems to be a common failing of them. Weren't they giving Alex the same treatment? Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. You're right about Finrod's friends. They were sounding like a medical conference and completely ignoring Finrod and how he felt. His walking out was a wakeup call to the others. One should never offend someone like Finrod. It's not's good for one's health. *grin* Anyway, thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Finrod is getting a lesson in the true meaning of Christmas and I am so glad we get to go for the ride. Thank you for taking time away from your life to give us something wonderful. Author Reply: You're most welcome, Laer. I love writing these stories. They are an integral part of my life (I write every day), so they are not 'taking time away' from anything. If anything, they add to my rather humdrum existence and I enjoy sharing them with others. And Finrod is indeed getting a lesson in the true meaning of Christmas, and perhaps by the end, so will everyone else. Thanks for leaving a comment. It's much appreciated.

*yawn* g'morning Atto, happy monday. It is a happier Monday for me when I have this to look forward to :) I love Finrod here. I just do. Although his little fit of temper wasn't very becoming, I loved that he saw St. Nicholas again (or did he?) and that he started getting into the Secret Santa thing. :) Wonder who's drawn Finrod...hmm... *hugs* I think I'm going back to bed for a little bit actually. It was a late night and this feels like a really early morning... Tye-melin, Atto. Kaylee Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. I think Finrod was right to be upset by the thoughtlessness of the others in speaking of him as if he wasn't there and treating him like a case study in some Psych 101 class. We'll see who is Secret Santa is eventually. There will be clues left along the way so readers can make their own guesses. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it. Tye-melin.
