Poor Finrod. That wasn’t the reaction he had hoped for when he announced his new job! He was so happy to have it, and rightly so – with the economy going downhill, and so many connected to the Academy needing jobs, it’s certainly not easy. I really wanted to slap Glorfindel after that insensitive and completely uncalled-for reaction! Besides, I don’t see the problem with the job in the first place. As Finrod said later on, it’s a good way to get to know the people, and I am sure he could have a look in this or that book now and then, too. So, Glorfindel just felt left out and thinks it’s his responsibility to take care of everything? *sigh* While I can see why he feels responsible for it, particularly with Finrod’s inexperience in our world, he was still overreacting badly. Vorondur was right to call Harrison, I think. The Elves are all way too involved in the whole mess, and too many are out of their depth there as well. While Glorfindel is the one who needs anger management classes the most, it seems a good idea to include the others, too, before things go out of hand even more. Author Reply: Poor Finrod, indeed. Things are just not turning out the way he thought they would and unfortunately Glorfindel is under a lot of stress (some of it self-inflicted) so he's not responding well to anything that seems to be out of his control, like Finrod finding his own job. Judge Harrison was just the right person to step in and diffuse the situation, since none of the Elves were qualified, all of them to emotionally involved in what was happening. Hopefully the anger management classes will be very helpful to everyone concerned. We'll see. Thanks for taking the time to review. I really appreciate it.

You know -- I really can't understand why on earth the Valar put these two together when, despite their deep love, they get in such awful tows! Bless there hearts, they have such good intentions, but what's that saying about the road to hell???? I feel so for Finrod. Nothing he does is accepted as he expects. (one of the Four Agreements - no expectations. Perhaps I should send him a copy? *g*) And slap Glorfi side of the head for me. Lost his kingdom. Is he insane to say such a thing to Finrod? He's got a few things that he must account for. And how could Finrod bring up the kitchens when the cake was such a fiasco?!? Great, though stunning chapter. I just held my breath as the two of them had a go at each other. It was good to see Judge Harrison come to the rescue. Author Reply: Hi Agape. Well, it was inevitable that there would be a blowout between them. Glorfindel is not thinking straight and so he's suffering from hoof-in-mouth disease and Finrod just feels everything is going wrong when he had such expectations of his reunion with his gwador. Luckily Vorondur saw to it that someone impartial would straighten these two out and I'm sure Judge Harrison found it all very amusing. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I really appreciate it.

I think Ron has become my favorite character in this story - what a gift he is to this crew! His wisdom and experience are the only things at the moment keeping this powder keg from blowing sky high. So glad that more are acknowledging their feelings of frustration and are willing to address them. And not that I want them to be humiliated, but Finrod and Glorfindel being treated like troublesome teens by a Mortal has to make an impact. I think they're so used to being the wise ones, of being superior to the Mortals, that bringing Judge Harrison in was inspired - and I also have visions of bets changing hands as the Lord of Mandos breathes a sigh of relief that he didn't have to get involved. :-) Author Reply: Hi Lyana. Ron is definitely my favorite Elf OC in the Elf Academy series, too, which is interesting because originally I did not conceive him as having such a major role in the storyline, but he sort of just was there whenever I needed him and he's sort of taken over quite nicely, thank you very much. LOL! And he is indeed a gift. His wisdom and experience and his background in psychology are a tremendous help here. Calling in Judge Harrison was indeed inspired. The Valinórean Elves must've wondered at the way the judge treated them, like a regular Judge Judy and not taking any nonsense from any of them. And having the Judge compare them to the crazies he used to deal with in Night Court must've really stung their pride, but good. And yes, I am sure there were many bets changing hands as Námo breathes a sigh of relief that he didn't have to get involved. LOL! Thanks for a lovely review. I appreciate it very much.

I think Glorfi needs to pick one of the Wiseman Elves to be in charge of acclimatizing the Valinorian Elves and stick to running Elf Academy for now. He has too much on his plate it seems. Nearly having a knock down drag out fight with Finrod is not in everybodies best interests! The group discussions and anger management classes will go a long way to smoothing things over. Having an outsider come in and lay it on the line for them was a smart move on Ron's part, sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees! Gee, I seem to be sowing metaphors all over the place tonight! Huggs, Lynda Author Reply: Hi Lynda. All that you say is pretty true and Glorfindel may do just that. Daeron and Vorondur can certainly take over the task of acclimatizing the Valinórean Elves. We'll see how the anger management classes work out whenever we get to EA3. And sometimes metaphors are the only and best way one can express one's thoughts on a subject. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much. Hugs.

Woa! I think Glorfindel finally lost it with the wrong person. Bringing Judge Harrison in as mediator was a good move from Vorondil. He is right, all of the elves are biased in one way or another. Nobody is impartial. At least now the air has cleared and they can work on the real issues. Author Reply: Definitely, obsidianj. Vorondur bringing in Judge Harrison was a stroke of genius on his part, since none of the Elves could have dealt with the issue without bias. And now that the air is cleared and the elephant in the room (as another reviewer put it) has been identified, they can start dealing with the real issues and get on with things. We'll see how that works out when we get to Elf Academy 3. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.

They are having a time of it, aren't they? Heh! Time to get a grip indeed. Author Reply: Yes they are, Larner, and indeed it is time and past time for them all to get a grip. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

So many emotions in one little room. A coffee shop job turning into a fight between brothers of the heart, then a chat with a mortal to clean it up before the real elephant in the room is discovered. I wondered if they would look at what we did to ME and hate us for it. So many changes and so much happening so fast. :( Dang but this is a great story! Author Reply: Hi Laer. Well actually it's a book shop but it could well have been a coffee shop or any other kind of shop and the fight would still have happened. A lot is indeed happening to these people and I suppose some of them must be feeling frustrated and sad at what ME has become in the intervening ages. I'm glad you are enjoying this story so much. Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

Fantastic chapter. One of the best you have written. I did not realize the bookstore job would be the catalyst for the explosion that was bound to happen. You did a great job pointing out the different pressures everyone was under and their lack of means to deal well and openly with the issues. Having the counseling sessions should help all the elves. I suspect you have surprises in store for all as they have to consider all the points of view. Thanks for a great start to the weekend. Author Reply: Hi UTfrog. I'm glad you really enjoyed this chapter. The confrontation between Glorfindel and Finrod was long in coming, I think. Hopefully the counseling sessions will help everyone. As for surprises, we'll just have to see. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it and have a great weekend.
