A terrible foretelling this has proved. The poor North-Tooks!

Author Reply: Yes. and this was one of the hardest parts of the story that I had to work out back when I started this. A lot of times it was like they were just telling me what was going on and I just wrote it down but this part had me thinking and rethinking what was going to happen. I think that having such a terrible winter that year helped me resolve the plot delimma. At least the children end up with adoptive parents who truly love and want them.

Alas, poor Pippin! Today was just such a day, a morning of cool rain, wonderful for sleeping in a bit (rather than having early morning dawnlight shining in one's eyes) but difficult when dealing with aches.

And the dreams, how sad and disturbing. One wonders if perhaps he could learn to use such dreams in future, to head off tragedy, or if events foretold in dreams are already set in stone.

Author Reply: Glad you got a chance to read a little today.

So far, Pippin has only dreamed about things that are set in stone or are happening so close to the time he dreams them that he couldn't do anything to change events.

Looking forward to when you get to comment on future chapters.

Aww...that's sad. And Pippin knew it was coming--or would have if he'd let himself believe it. Yet there was probably nothing he could have done!

"Nothing to write to Buckland about." I love it; what a neat hobbity saying!

Author Reply: No, there was nothing he could do to stop it. By the time things became clearer, it was already happening.

That saying just came to me. I had started to type "nothing to write home about" which is a saying I use a lot but, all of a sudden I just knew that hobbits in the main part of the Shire would say this instead. I'm glad you like it. :)

Thanks again for the reviews.

So, he had a prescient dream about Rudy's death, did he? Alas! A sad reason to visit with family. But he's sadly in need of a warmer client, it appears. At least things are good between him and his wife.

Author Reply: Yes, the dream was prescient and there's an even bigger reason for them to go North. That will come out shortly.

As for needing a warmer climent, he'd love it but, like the rest of us who deal with old injuries in cold weather, he knows that his responsibilities keep him where he is. Someday he'll get to his chance to sit in the sun. :)

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it more than you know.

Poor Pippin, having such vivid dreams/visions. Perhaps he'll find a way to use them constructively for the good of his people.

(Should "Moore" be "Moor"?)

Author Reply: He's going to be using these dreams/visions for something much closer to home.

And, yes, that should be moor. I missed that when rereading it. That's the problem with posting late in the evening: brainfade. Thannks for catching that. I 'll go fix it.
