Can't even speak after reading this. Heart-wrenching. Author Reply: The tale of the finding of Thrain in the dungeons of Dol Guldur has been begging to be told, I find.

Very sad, indeed! But it is the beginning of another story in which the treasure will be retrieved. More dwarves will die in the process, but a hobbit will survive, taking with him a small ring that will start yet another story. Author Reply: Oh, yes. Poor Thrain! But Erebor will be freed at last of the occupation of the dragon--he will be avenged, and Sauron will lose a potential ally on the eastern front. Thanks so, Andrea!

Lost the last review! Kindly King-maker keens for keyholder then keeps it for kith, kin and King-to-be. I found this one both vivid and powerfully moving Larner. Btw do I get a prize if I find three missed emboldenings? (Is that even a word?) "Gandalf knew for opening" Author Reply: Lovely review here! Kudos! Heh! I found even one more--missed four in this one, I realized. And if "emboldenings" isn't a word, perhaps it ought to be. If Shakespeare (or whoever wrote the plays attributed to him) added to the English vocabulary, why can't we, right? Heh!

Ohhhhh, poor Thrain!! *shudder* What a chilling and well written gapfiller! Author Reply: Thank you so, Kaylee. Eventually this will be expanded upon in Stirring Rings, of course.

Wow! How sad and powerfully done. Namarie, God bless, Antane Author Reply: Thank you so, Antane. A week and a half left, and then another half a week and my new family member will be joining the crew!

Ohhh, this is so heartbreaking. *sniff* But a very nice gap filler. Author Reply: We know that Gandalf found Thrain in the Necromancer's dungeons but that he couldn't save him from this imprisonment. So, this is what I tend to imagine.

Well, that's a sad story.... 😢 It's a good thing Gandalf is as persistent as he is, or this secret might have died w the unfortunate dwarf. But the wizard was certainly the right man for the job. Thanks for writing! Author Reply: This, of course, will eventually be made part of Stirring Rings, supposing, of course, I ever get this next chapter about Cirion and Eorl finished and posted. Aargh! Thank you for reading, PSW.
