An Alphabet Book for the King's Children  by Larner 5 Review(s)

Oops, I am getting behind but I suddenly have a dog who doesn't want to sleep at night so puts his every effort into keeping me from going to bed!

So sorry to hear about your fall. It definitely takes talent to break your own rib and very painful too. (((Hugs)))

Our rough, roving and rakish Ranger, ( in need of a razor,) reaches out royally endowed healing hands to rub the rib of the rumpled (w)riter!

Author Reply: Oh, but I welcome that thought!

We had a terrible cold snap come down from Alaska and the Yukon that brought temps well below freezing for about ten days. My furnace has gone out, so have been making do with space heaters until I can get a new furnace installed, not probably before February at current prices. For several days the heaters couldn't keep up with the cold, and it was like trying to sleep inside a refrigerator! Now, last night the heaters did well in spite of the frost outside, and I was actually too warm when I woke up with my own little Prince Charming giving me wake-up kisses on my nose.

His new lady friend comes to live with us in less than two weeks now. But she will be only eight weeks old, so he'll have to deal with puppy tricks until she grows older. She is, I'm told, most likely to prove a cream sable as Melian was, and her name is to be Narcissa.

Yes, the rangers of the north did a great job in protecting the Shire!

I also like the word "scruffy". Unfortunately, it does not start with an "r" ;-)

Author Reply: I do, too, but as you said it doesn't start with an R. Heh!

We love our Rangers!

Ah yes! Rangers ruling over the Reunited Kingdom! (And I finally finished the bunny that "C" inspired, so you can read it! :) ) We do love our Rangers, Larner! But then who wouldn't - Oh yes, Ruffians!!

Author Reply: I am sorry it took so long to read your story, but I've been rather unexpectedly ill. I took a fall in a parking lot, and with a great deal of talent I didn't realized I possessed, managed to break my rib against my own elbow, and that was on top of a most persistent infection I've been fighting for weeks. So, off I went to the walk-in clinic to get two diagnoses for the price of one. Just what one needs at Christmas time!

And, yes, the greatest of the Rangers now rules both North and South!

I always loved, and was saddened, by what Tom Bombadil told the hobbits.

'Few now remember them, yet still some go wandering, sons of forgotten kings walking in loneliness, guarding from evil things folk that are heedless.'

Author Reply: Oh, I'm so glad that you remember that quote! Perfect for our Aragorn!

There's just something about the northern Rangers, right? :-)

Author Reply: Oh, yes, and particularly about their Chieftain! You know, I've loved him since I was thirteen years old, back in 1963!
