Oh, I'm so glad he realizes Mr. Frodo wants a good deal of looking after! Wonderful, Lindelea!

Oh this is a fun read for a Sunday evening. I had a choice - chores such as the ironing or catch up with the reading. Well no choice really was it especially with the temperature in my little bed-sit around the high 80's (31 degrees in modern money). When you tell me the temperature where you are has dropped 10 degrees the steam came out of my ears I was so jealous! You lucky person!

I liked the way you ended both chapters with Sam's nemesis - boats and water!

Author Reply: I am hot, sticky, and grumbly, sorry to say. Reading reviews is certainly cheering!

You know I hadn't noticed that coincidence! Fascinating!

LOL! Those letters are great!
I'd very much like to quote everything - but that would be boring ;-)

So, I've picked something out, as example:

Hobbits isn't the only folk what lives under the ground. Dwarves do as well, only their smials are a deal larger than Shire-folks'.

A deal larger? Haha! Your Sam is wonderful!

... and Mr. Frodo wants looking after, no doubt about it
Well, that's how Sam puts it. I think, Mr. Frodo would have much more liked to sneak away ;-)

Don't forget to mention the incident with Gollum and the taters: "You wouldn't believe it, Dad, but that sneaky Gollum creature doesn't know what taters are!"

I'm looking forward to reading more.

Author Reply: Ah, how I love it when you pick out examples! (I'm even trying to do that when I leave reviews, and it's harder than I thought!)

Ooo, good suggestion, Gollum and the taters... (making mental note)

Bravo!! MEWD, Lindelea!!

These are so casual . . . and yet, there is a tension to them as well. Wonderfully written :)

Author Reply: Thank you, you caught that! Sam doesn't want to worry his old dad, after all.

Samwise Gamgee, Master of Understatement! LOL! This is funny--I love the way he skirts around the "bad parts".

Author Reply: Thanks! He's got a way with words, he does.

Master Peregrin Took wants a good deal of looking after, I'm afraid. Do you know how you taught me never to chuck things down a well? Seems as if he don't have enough sense to stuff a turnip.

*giggles* I do love these matter-of-fact letters!

Author Reply: Thanks!

(He and Frodo want a great deal of looking after!)
