Okay--the Black Riders and Wights are "shady fellows" and Aragorn is "Grubby"? Now, that's a new one! How did I manage to miss this?

"some shady characters who stole the shirts off our backs."

Wonderful.

"Cannot tell you where we are going but it is someplace with elves."

And that is all he needs to know!

Author Reply: LOL, that's right, and probably would be more meaningful than mentioning "Rivendell".

Thanks for stopping by!

LOL!! I laughed so hard when Sam kept calling Aragorn "Grubby." Thanks for giving me a laugh. ^^

Author Reply: You're (belatedly) welcome!

Heh-heh. Clever and very uh...Sammy like. Here's my favorite quote-
"Seems clear to me they don’t have the sense to sew their valuables into their underwear as they ought."
I don't supose the Gaffer ever got these letters, did he?

Author Reply: Hmm. I don't know. Perhaps Sam posted them after the Battle of Bywater.

ROTFLOL! I especially loved the "afctnatly".

Author Reply: Funny thing is I have seen that spelling in old letters... as if the people got to the end and were just too tired of writing to put all the letters in... or something.

How funny!

"Grubby is travelling partway with us."

A perfect start into a new day (or rather... afternoon)

Author Reply: Thank you! Always glad to be of assistance.

I can see Sam writing these! It's perfect and I think this story will turn out to be quite a bit of fun. Can't wait for more.

Author Reply: Why, thank you! Appreciate the encouragement. I'm hoping more will come to me over the weekend.

You absolutely slay me. How do you come up with these wonderful ideas?

I loved Samwise's "voice," and his spelling. According to canon, as much as hobbits write letters to each other, I am sure that our hobbits would have at least tried to send letters home. Circumspect letters, but still, they surely would have tried. Of course, the Gaffer would have to have someone read him Sam's letters!

ANOTHER incredibly inventive and delightful Lindelea story.

Author Reply: Thank you. This was just an off-the-cuff remark during a silly phone call with Dana that I was going to let go, but she persuaded me to write it down, and the rest is history.

And my goodness, the high praise is simply wonderful, especially coming from one of my favourite authors!

Love it!!! I hope this is just the beginning of many missives from Sam (or from the others).

"Mr Frodo disappeared. Can’t say I blame him."

*snicker*

More! Soon!

Author Reply: Well, I hope to do also Book II, Book IV and Book VI from Sam. We'll see about the others.

Cute. A little confusing, but very funny once you think about it.

Author Reply: Ah. Glad the confusion cleared up for you. The worst response a humorous piece can get is head-scratching, "I don't get it..."
