Thain  by Lindelea 4 Review(s)

Love that my vision of the Hobbits retaining ceremonial songs and dances from their time over the Misty Mountains is matched by Bucca knowing the Old Tongue and being able to interpret the names. And I love these young princes, one accepting, one doubting. Interesting pair, and Bucca may well have his hands full with the two of them.

Glad he was able to fabricate a new bow.

Author Reply: Bucca *did* have his hands full, as a matter of fact! Those youngsters are full of energy. (Wish I had some of it! Too many late nights and early mornings this week.)

Thanks!

(p.s. posted a new chapter in honour of your visit. Hoping for a safe drive home again.)

I love Bucca and his elven cloak! And him being left in charge of the rather headstrong young horse lords. Lwis seems a little more open to strangeness than Frauja - who seems keen to deny the existence of what is standing in front of him. They are both very appealing, though.

Shame all those from Gondor arrived just a tad late - all have history might have changed had they got their a couple of months earlier.

Bucca seems keen to get home - for which I can't blame him. For all the excitement and elves and ships, he must be worried sick about his people. And his family must be pretty anxious about him.

Author Reply: Lwis is bold, impulsive, and optimistic; Frauja is more inclined to take thought before acting. A good combination, in cousins who are as close as brothers, I think.

I have had the same thought about the timing of Gondor's arrival. Pity, really.

I think Bucca may be heading homewards soon. Things are looking that way, anyhow.

Thanks!

Glad to see another update to this. Hope the reconstruction of it is going well.

I was really hoping Bucca was going to be heading home. Guess he's got to wait a little longer.

Those young princes sound like a real handful. I'm not I trust the wisdom of putting Bucca in charge of watching them. They all my corrupt each other.

I'm really curious about where all the elements of this are leading. You have obviously put in a lot of effort and research for this story.

Keep up the good work.

GT.

Author Reply: Reconstruction is going very slowly, as a matter of fact, but there are a few draft chapters on my hard drive, at least.

Lots of research... that was one of the hard parts, after losing the story and all its notes. So much ground to have to go over, all over again.

Thanks!

Oh, I think you did well enough with the names, and I am glad that you used the linguistic hints JRRT gives!

I like "Lwis"--mayhap pronounced "Lewis?" He's got a good sense of humor, and is atute enough to know a holbytlan when he sees one, unlike his brother, who thinks he knows everything, LOL!

I'm glad to see an update to this--I know you had lost some of it at one time! I'm happy to see it back on track.

Author Reply: It might well be pronounced "Lewis"! I hadn't thought of that, but it's logical. w is, after all, a double-u.

Thanks!
