This is a good story. it would make scence why poor Pip dosen't like playing blind hobbit. we did a game simler to that over summer and suprizling I didn't fall over. lol

Author Reply: I'm glad you didn't fall over during your version of this game. Falling with your eyes covered would be rather dangerous. Thank you for reading this one and giving it a new review!

Wait...let me wipe this tear burning my eye. Amazing. The love between these two hobbits is astounding...and you write it all so very well! This was a sad but sweet tale of the utter trust Pippin has in Merry. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing this lovely story.

Author Reply: Thank you for reading. I like to think that these two could always count on each other no matter what. Pippin must have been very trusting as a small hobbit and I suspect that Merry had to step in on more than one occasion. Glad that you enjoyed it.

Sad words but true. Some friends.

Author Reply: Happens to most of us at one point or another and we realize exactly who we can count on and who we can't. Pippin got his lesson on this early.

Pip is so easily forgiving and almost too trusting! Even after a nasty trick like that, he was still over-willing to play with the same hobbits again. But as the title of the story goes, there's friends, then there's Merry. I have a best friend who I call "my Merry" and so quite a few of these stories remind me of our friendship.

Author Reply: Everyone should have that one special friend that they can count on no matter what. Pip is the trusting sort and is also trying hard to fit in with the older children so he does need Merry to look out for him. Thanks for the review!

I loved this. You always write the hobbits so well, I adore your "little" Pippin and I think you nail Merry every time. This was great! I'm glad you included Freddy! You always hear about, Merry, Pippin, Sam, and Frodo but I love when Freddy is included and that I you did him well. That he was willing to let Pippin come along and be so sweet about it. Thank you for the story!

Author Reply: Thank you! I like Freddy and I enjoy including him whenever I can. I think of him as a rather sweet, easy-going hobbit and I think he gives the others another friend for adventures. Thank you for reading this!

Isn't Merry just the greatest? It must have been very difficult for him to not go hunting down those hobbits, but he gave Pippin some good advice. Poor Pippin.

Author Reply: Yes, the more you make of a thing, sometimes the worse it gets. I am sure Merry wanted to pay them back right then, but he knew that would only cause them to pick on Pippin more once they realized that they had gotten to him. Thanks for the review!

Poor Pippin! He is little though and it is not easy to see when people joke or not. I`m glad Merry was there for him to explain and make him happy again, and that Freddy was so generous to him and invited him on the fishing trip too.

Author Reply: I think that Pippin always wants to believe that others have good intentions toward him and at that age, I am sure he needed Merry's help to see who was trust-worthy and who wasn't. Older cousins can be priceless because after all, there are friends, and then, there's Merry! Thanks for reading and reviewing.

O, that brings back some childhood memories! I, too was tricked once. And I had no Merry to comfort me. But this experience helped me to separate true friends from others.
I've never given up hope though, that there is something good in this world, and with this positive intention I've met lots of wonderful people.

Thank you for this great chapter!

Author Reply: Children can be very wicked to one another. Sounds like you had a bad experience, but you are right in that it lets you know who your friends really are. It can be very hard to face up to, but not everyone is worth trusting. Sounds like you came out of it with the right idea and didn't let it stop you from making good friends. Thank you for reading and I am glad that you enjoyed this chapter.

I would rather like to see Merry and sidekicks Freddy and Pippin working out some rather nasty and very clever revenge on those horrible little snots. Pippin is so puppy-like about forgiving such insults - but Merry isn't, so go for it Meriadoc Brandybuck, make them pay!

Author Reply: Seems there is a general out-cry for Merry to defend Pippin on this one. I will have to do some serious thinking about this. There may be a tiny bunny trying to tell me something. Thank you for reading and reviewing and I will give this revenge some thought.
