Trust a Brandybuck and a Took!  by Grey Wonderer 4 Review(s)

Heehee, you really need to write a few more stories of Merry, Pippin, and their kids. I got a good chuckle out of the whole buisness. And the similarities between thema and their children was perfect. I loved how even though they were fathers and husbands and warriors now, Merry and Pippin still remain unquestionably Merry and Pippin.

Interestingly enough, I had just finished rereading one of the rather darker parts of the Two Towers (I reread the trilogy every summer.) It had been raining really hard outside. Then, about halfway through the story, I happened to look out the window and see - Sunlight! The sun had broken through the clouds for the first time all day! perfect timing. I feel much better now.

Author Reply: That is very interesting about the sun coming out while you were reading. I did think that it would have been one of the first signs that things had improved after the battle.

I only have a couple of stories involving Merry and Pippin's children. I don't know why but I find them a bit harder to write. I am glad that you enjoyed the fact that Merry and pippin were still pretty much the same as always in spite of being all grown up. I just can't think of them as serious.

Oh, how wonderful a gift, and a wonderful tale of how it was passed from hand to hand as the time was right.

Author Reply: Thank you! I have always been rather fond of sea shells myself and so I liked the idea that one might wind up in the Shire. Thank you for reading and reviewing this one.

I love this. Eowyn - do names really impose their own personality on people? - is great. You really can't blame her for fighting back - but to hit Faramir by accident! The older brother being cool and protective and the little one who like to have his injuries noted. Repeatedly. Lovely family scene! With the dads getting the blame for not looking after them properly.

And the seashell - and Eowyn the first - and the handing on to the little Eowyn. It's a lovely complex story.

Author Reply: So glad you enjoyed it. I don't often write grown up Merry and Pippin and this may be the only one I've posted. I had fun writing the children. Thanks so much for reading!

Aww...so beautiful. And I can't help but say...Faramir is adorable! Well, it's not like he could help it, being Pippin's son, but still, so cute! All the children are cute, Merry and Pippin are still just cute, and this entire addition was just cute cute cute. Great job as always and keep up the excellent work!

Author Reply: Thank you! I don't often write about Merry and Pippin's families and so I am glad that this went over well. I had fun writing the children, especially Freddy. LOL Thanks for reading and reviewing!
