Well I'm a bit late in beginning these but I have begun! The way you did the whole thing with only the dialogue was great! It made it more comical somehow. Very amusing, thank you!

Author Reply: Somehow, I seem to be better at dialogue than discription and so this was easier for me than some of my others. Glad you liked it.

Very amuzing..Poor merry stuck in a tree with pippin and him wanting to kill him... Pippin's idea went to funny to not such good luck, and in the end even try's to blame merry for it.
Very entertaining...

Author Reply: Thank you! It was hard to come up with something for this.

Oh, my gosh–I was ROTFLMBO!! Pass me the kleenex so I can wipe my tears of laughter! Only Pippin could get them in a fix like this! Brilliant plot–wonderful dialogue! I don’t think I’d be able to pull off dialogue storytelling like this.

Author Reply: Like I have always said, my hobbits talk too much as so this was not a problem for me. It's the rest of these things that I have trouble with. Glad it made you laugh and thanks to you, I am already out of kleenex. (Roses) Thanks for the review. You know that brilliant is one of my favorite words.

LOL, oh poor Merry! Chained to his cousin around some trees. Whatever will he think of next? But I'm a bit confused. Are they in the trees? On the ground? Obviously, they aren't in a position where they could climb over to each other and get out that way. Hm, that's a pickle. And I agree, that partridge should poop on Pippin's head. He deserves it. :)

Author Reply: I was trying to use 'pair of trees' for 'a pear tree' in this one. LOL Without any description, it is a bit hard to tell just where they are, but Merry is standing beside of 'a pair of rather large trees with a small space between them and the chain is running between the trees to where Pippin is standing. I probably should have had one of them say this in some form. LOL
And yes, I also agree with Merry as to what the partridge should do to Pippin. This was not a well-thought-out practical joke.

Lol! Pippin's plans just never come together in quite the way he intends, do they? I love the all dialogue approach, btw. :)

Author Reply: Thanks! I think the first one that I ever did with only dialogue was a Hobbit Ficathon story. This was the second. Glad you enjoyed it. My hobbits talk too much anyway and so this lets me take advantage of it. LOL

I wonder if Merry ever thinks to himself, 'Why am I always risking my safety with Pippin? Have I no sensible friends of my own age with whom I can drink and ogle the lasses?'

On the other hand, think what he would have missed!

Author Reply: LOL Merry did have his hands full didn't he? Cheer up. He does get to drink a bit in one of these stories. At least, I did let him be openly hostile about the entire mess. I do think he must have gotten angry from time to time.

Goodness. Reminds me of the old joke, "If the Foo sh--s, wear it!"

Author Reply: Yes, this one was stretching it a bit. "a pair of trees" for "pear tree". I did have to get inventive to make these fit the song. I too, remember that joke and your comment gave me a good laugh!
