The 12Days Challenge  by Grey Wonderer 8 Review(s)

LOL! That was great! Painting turtles! I was a bit worried when it was a live thing Pippin was painting, you never know with little children! Wonderful! Frodo did an admirable job of not laughing, at least in front of Pippin!

Author Reply: A young neighbor of ours once painted a turtle's shell, but didn't give the turtle wings, he just painted it white and we washed it off because we figured that the white would attract too many enemies to the poor turtle. Fortunately it didn't seem to hurt the turtle.

Poor Frodo and Bilbo. What a mess pippin has gotten into. Painting wings on turttles, that sounds so much like a child...
I wonder who will clean them up...

Author Reply: Children do the strangest things, don't they? Thanks for reading.

You should have put a warning on this one; it should say "Danger: Beware of Fluff"

Author Reply: True. This one was very fluffy and very different from the first one. Thanks so much for reviewing these. It's great to know that someone is reading.

LOL–too, too cute!! I’m always in the mood for fluff. Sweet little Pippin trying to speed up the turtles...lovely story!

Author Reply: This one was of my fluffier ones. Glad you enjoyed it!

Awww! How adorable! Pippin is so thoughtful. And imaginative! Poor turtles.

Author Reply: I do believe that Pippin's mind works in a slightly different way from other hobbits even as he grows older. Besides, I did need these turtle doves. LOL Thanks for the review!

I love the turtle doves. Very clever!

Author Reply: Thanks! You gotta love art, especially child-art. So many possibilities!

“I wondered about that at the time,”
Yes, we often do.

Frodo was unable to say more at that moment because he could now imagine two small, green, winged turtles flying about the garden and frightening the life out of Gaffer Gamgee and he found himself over-come with laughter.

I am laughing too!

I think I get it now. The first story was "Partridge in a Pear Tree" and this is "Two Turtle Doves". Can't wait to see what you make of "Four Calling Birds", much less the "Three French Hens" and so much more to anticipate!

Author Reply: Look out for the hens. That one was rather unusual. Glad you liked the turtle doves. I think it would be most amusing to see turtles flying around the Gaffer's well-tended garden. Glad you agree.

Author Reply: I bet your dog is hiding right about now. LOL Thank you for reading this one. I could see the trutles flying, but then, that is the way my mind works.
