Reunited  by Baggins Babe 8 Review(s)

Knitted souls...

Of course, they'd be more comfortable sleeping together than apart.

Rose was a very smart, loving, understanding lass.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Oh, Baggins Babe, this is so beautiful and sweet! I'm glad to have found another who can write about Frodo and Sam's friendship with such pure love...and not slash! *shudders and shakes head* I'll say with a dear friend and wonderful Frodo-and-Sam fanfic author (Antane) that these two are brothers of the heart, and you show that love and devoted brotherhood so beautifully here. The banter had me rolling with laughter. It's so wonderful to see our Frodo hysterical! And the ending is not to be surpassed. Excellent, my friend, excellent! God bless,
Galadriel...a fellow lover of such stories

Author Reply: Yes, I think Frodo and Sam were brothers in spirit. I don't think the Professor intended there to be anything sexual in the relationship between these two dear friends, but I've been around long enough not to be shocked by slash. :-)) I just object to the improbable and badly-written stuff!

I think the banter between them would have been easy and funny and I liked the idea of Frodo giggling at the memory of Lotho falling on his face in a cow-pat! Who wouldn't?

Ah yes.....the ending. I've always loved that song sung by the Elves and the music for it used in the film was incredible. I wanted a reference to that.

I hope you won't take this wrong. I don't know your feelings. But this and your "Reunion in Minith Tirith" story are the slashiest non-slash stories I've ever read. And I truly mean that as a compliment. The love and mutual admiration and and respect and affection your Frodo and Sam have for each other is just a pleasure to read, and it just takes a little tweaking from my over-active imagination to make this a F/S love story. Thanks for writing some great new stuff at a point where not a lot of new stuff is being written in the fandom. I'm looking forward to reading lots more stories from you.

Author Reply: I think Sam and Frodo were truly soul-friends, dearer than brothers. Sam is so unselfish and caring, and the most unselfish thing Frodo ever did (apart from sacrificing himself for Middle-earth) was to send Sam back to his family and go to Tol Eressa without him. He must have been quite lonely sometimes and was no doubt overjoyed to see Sam again. In some ways theirs is a love story, but a non-sexual love story.

Nothing nicer than a truly happy ending, I always think. :-))

"The love and companionship you share is wonderful to behold, my friends. Soul-friends indeed."
That is so true! There is a special bond between Frodo and Sam, that could not be broken, not by the Dark Lord and not by so many years of separation.
Now they are together again and they are enjoying it. Wonderful! That's how I would like to see them, just happy!

BTW: I would really like to read the lyrics to 'Nineteen Nights in Nobottle,' complete with hand gestures :)
Must be a very interesting song!

Author Reply: Hmmmm. LOL! The mind boggles at the idea of those lyrics! Still, you never know - I may manage to find them and if I do I'll post them for you. Definitely an R rating for that, i think!

"And here you are, paddling in the seas of Valinor! You are a most adventurous hobbit, Samwise Gamgee. When your foothair is nine inches long and you have to plait it and tie it up with a ribbon, don't blame me!"
"Who else am I going to blame, Frodo Baggins?" Sam demanded, laughing. Frodo let go of his arm and ran, giggling, along the sand, with a startled Sam in hot pursuit.
On the slope above, Gandalf and Elrond looked at each other and exchanged delighted smiles.

Soul-friends! Oh Baggins Babe, I can already depend on your stories to make my heart dance. Another happily-ever-after gift for all of us.

Author Reply: Thank you for your kind comments. I think I have to believe that this is how it was for these two, otherwise it would all be too sad. I like to think of them delighting in each other's company and having a little fun. Theirs is such an inspiring friendship.

This was just what I needed today. I've always felt that this is exactly how it must have been for Frodo and Sam when they reunited. I hate sad endings...a happy ending or nothing at all and you have more than supplied my happy ending. Thank you so much for showing all that this is the way it was meant to be for these two very dear friends. tree

Author Reply: Oh yes, nothing like a happy ending. This is what I like to believe happened when they met again.
