I love the song. You always do so very well with working music into your stories. This is very tender.

Author Reply: Thank you! The song I based it on is really beautiful; I've always wanted to use it in a story, and now I finally had the chance.

Poor Diamond! Good thing Aragorn was close at hand and knew what to do! And poor Pippin! He probably got no sleep at all last night.

That is a lovely song! Very fitting for Pippin and his Diamond.

Author Reply: Yes, poor Pippin! I'm sure you are right about Pippin-- but now she's better, he'll get some rest!

And I'm glad you liked the song!

(Sorry to be so late replying. Somehow I missed seeing a couple of reviews.)

Just as lovely a read the second time around Dreamflower.
Is there a tune for the song available?

Author Reply: I've heard several versions of it, but my favorite is by Niamh Parsons.

The song has several names as well, and there's some dispute as to the meaning of it. (Some say the "pastheen fion" is a woman, some a young man, and some even say it was Bonnie Prince Charlie!) The one I listed is from a listing of old broadsheet lyrics. When I adapted it, I had to leave out the lovely Gaelic part of the refrain.
