A very sweet story.I love "The Secret Garden" too.

Author Reply: Oh, it's a delightful film. I read the book when I was much younger; I should definitely read it again.

What a lovely idea to have Arwen restore Finduilas garden to its pristine loveliness. I'm sure it will do Faramir good to help her once in a while.

Aragorn brushing the few leaves gently off the bench was a very delicate touch.

Author Reply: Oh yes, that was not Faramir's last visit into that garden.

I'll admit being inspired by the scene in FOTR EE when Aragorn gently brushes the leaves away from his mother's grave. One of my favorite small touches to the film.

Warm and lovely. Though perhaps Faramir need not leave. In between his duties I suspect he, too, could find solace in helping to restore this garden. Then later, he could bring his own lady love and their children there, too.

Author Reply: Oh, I agree completely. The only reason he likely left as he did was that he still did not know the king and queen well. Give him a few years, and you'll have to drag him out :)

Finduilas's garden couldn't be in better hands. (Perhaps you could show us later the unveiling of the recovered garden?)

Psst -- "she could wander around the fauna" -- Of "flora and fauna," fauna are the animals (your mnemonic is "fawn"), while flora are the flowers and other plants (mnemonic "florist"). There undoubtedly were small fauna in the garden, but many more flora....

Author Reply: Perhaps, indeed! We'll see :)

Err, d'oh! That's what I get for writing AND rereading so early in the morning! I knew that, of course, but my sleep-deprived brain didn't. Thanks for poiting it out! :)

There are few things more sad than a well loved garden that has been neglected. And it is a thing of great joy to restore.
Lovely feeling to this piece.

Author Reply: Thank you, harrow cat. I am glad that you enjoyed it.
