What a beautiful little piece, Lairė. And for me it was spot on. I have always thought that for Aragorn the hard part about giving back the gift would be telling Arwen because, being wise, he knew how she would feel.

Author Reply: Heh, no kidding! She was immortal in the end, after all, and knew nothing about death until she lived in the world of Men. To lose her husband to such a thing must have been very, very difficult.

This just broke my heart. Even though you know the inevitable is coming it doesn't make it any easier.

The image of him holding his great great grandaughter's embroidery while contemplating his end is quite sombering but at the same time beautiful.

I love your Aragorn stories. Keep those prompts coming.

Author Reply: Oh, I agree completely. Sometimes I wish Aragorn and Arwen were able to sail away with the rest of them.

Thank you very much, and yes, they'll keep on coming- I am quite far behind and I am still catching up. XD

Ah yes, his fears for the Evenstar would ever be foremost in his mind, I think. That's a nice touch with the embroidery as he makes contemplates making this difficult decision. Well done.

Author Reply: Thank you, Inzilbeth. I do wonder how he would have brought up the subject with her- I cannot even imagine how difficult it would have been.

Oh, I so agree with his estimation of what will come to pass once she knows. (Not that Tolkien didn't make that clear, of course--heh!)

But one of his beloved great-granddaughters looks to succeed Arwen as the embroideress of the land! Wonderful!

Author Reply: Heh, no kidding! I do feel sorry for Arwen at times, having to deal with that.
