| You mean to say that Merry, who was always so quick to remind Frodo that Pippin is an evil child would then let said child run about freely? lol Merry really doesn't think sometimes. He's also too cocky for his own good. I love their mysterious meadow. What a fascinating and wonderful place. | |

| This meadow is a fascinating place - and seems, at the moment at least, to be a very special place, open to very few. I wonder how Merry and Pippin got a dispensation to enter it... | Fascinating concept, a disappearing meadow, with benevolent occupants under the sun, and not-so-kindly when the sun has gone to bed... What was that dark force, did you ever find out? I loved the idea of Merry making up his "game", a gentle adventure though not without peril! Author Reply: The second part of this was posted to Marigold's Challenge 35 this month and I am moving it here sometime tonight. She and I co-authored that section and there is more about what is in the meadow at night in that part. We are also hard at work on a part three with a twist to it but that isn't likely to be completed until after the holidays. Merry's game was fun until he realized how it might get out of hand. I think he believed that he had it all under control until Pippin proved him wrong. Thanks for reading and reviewing! | |

| I loved this GW and it has such potential for more entries. *hints greedily!* You got the sense of fear and wonder perfectly. Running in tall grass when I was Pippin's age was the cause of the scar on my leg when I ran into a stick I didn't see. I went to the hospital on the back of a bicycle! Author Reply: I like running in tall grass too. There aren't any meadows like that near my home but I have seen a few and they are lovely when one is lucky enough to find them. Posting part two of this here tonight. Marigold and I wrote it together and so I am glad that you are interested in more of this. Thanks for the review. The back of a bicycle! | Ah, the joys of wonder and magic. Wonder of wargs come there at night, or changeling bears, or some other odd creature? As for not wanting adventures outside the Shire--the time will come when that contingency will be thrust upon them. I love fields of tall grass, myself. I can see why they love to return there. And I suspect the Elves do love it, too. Author Reply: I do think that if the Shire was that lovely that the Elves might have had a few secret places within it, don't you? I do love meadows with high grass and flowers myself. As to what is there at night, Merry's next entry goes into that a bit more so I won't comment further. Thanks for reading! | |
