Very nice romantic tension going on. Loved it, the custom about the ribbons was very sweet. Hope Eomer gets to claim his reward soon.

Author Reply: Well, as you've probably found out by now Eomer did manage to claim his ribbon in the end! Even if it was a bit of a rough road there.

Thanks for reviewing and I hope you enjoyed the rest of the story!

I suspect Eomer's going to have some difficulty spending time with Lothiriel in the near future, now that Imrahil is on to him! At least her brothers seem to like the idea.

Author Reply: Yes, I guess so too. (Well, in fact I know...) But there are other people, naming no names, not too well pleased with this recent development either. More next week!

Oh, my!

Did I just read 16 chapters in one setting, forgetting to go to bed when I should have?

Yep.

This is a delightful story, Lialathuveril, and I truly can't wait to find out what happens next.

Your Éomer and Lothiríel characters are truly interesting and three-dimensional... and I especially like the personal touch of a quotation from "literature" at the top of each chapter... especially Mardil Voronwë as Machiavelli -- imagine that! ;-D

Author Reply: You've made me a happy woman! Someone at last noticed that allusion to Machiavelli (or at least commented on it). It's quite difficult at times to come up with a meaningful quotation for each chapter, but I enjoy playing round with it.

And to hear that you had to read it all in one setting is good as well, of course! There will be more next week I hope.

Thanks for leaving a review!

I fear Mugash will find death, but not for the one he wishes it for. And love Eomer realizing he loves Lothiriel, just as she is, wishing her to not give up on life as yet. And seeing Imrahil being protective of her is so amusing.

Author Reply: Ah yes. It is of course always a good idea to be extremely specific when dealing with gods, especially when they're not even your own.

And Imrahil will have a bit more to say about Eomer's behaviour in the chapter!

I'm finally caught up and back to where I started. This is nicely done, with good characterizations and some unexpected turns. I'm have a good time reading it.

Author Reply: You're quick! There should be some more unexpected turns coming up shortly, I hope you'll enjoy them.

So the bolt of lightning finally strikes Eomer! Yet he's still so innocent that he doesn't figure out that his "unchaste thoughts" are bound up in his genuine love for Lothiriel. I love the moment when he angrily tells her to wish for the moon.

Wonderful complicit Amrothos!

If you'd ended the chapter at the three asterisks, we'd have had pure romance--but the ending actually intensified the impact of the growing love between Eomer and Lothiriel by showing us how it's about to be threatened. I know they're going to end up just fine, but you've managed to make the suspense very real.

Lovely title for the chapter - so simple, yet covering so much of what happens.

Author Reply: Like Eomer, I think that if you don't have dreams, you might as well be dead - so wish for the moon! But yes, it's all a bit much for poor Eomer to take in!

And there are more threats to their love than just Muzgash and some of them not that straightforward! More next week...

Brilliant! Éomer, finally recognizing what the rest of the world has seen for a long time, and Muzgâsh, deciding to use a blind princess as a weapon against his foe. I can barely wait for the next chapter. (Oh - and Lady Wilwarin, shamefully neglected - hehehe.)

Author Reply: Eomer can be a bit slow at times, can't he. Even now, he might not have quite the right impression of what Lothiriel thinks of what just happened.

I quite enjoy writing about Muzgash, he's so nicely villainous (hmm, wonder what that says about me as a person?).

Ooo-er! Eomer has really begun to realise what's happening! (And so has Lady Wilwarin!) I don't think Imrahil is too thrilled at the idea, though. Although Amrothos is definitely on the side of the two as-yet-uncomprehending not-quite lovers. And Eowyn's cheering for them.

Muzgash might actually be Cupid in disguise. A pretty thick disguise, but nonetheless ...

Most enjoyable.

Most.

Author Reply: Cupid? That nearly made me choke on my tea! A very thick disguise, although I suppose he would enjoy the bow and arrow thing.

And Eomer is getting a bit more in touch with his subconscious at last. Now that he's got his ribbon, all he has to do is claim his forfeit... but I have to warn you, it's not all plain sailing from now on (but then you know me - 'evil' is my middle name!)
