Stirrings of Shadow  by Fiondil 3 Review(s)

My first review, but only because I hadn't realised I could for some reason.

Anyway I am loving this story, but have to say you have left this at a real cliffhanger and I will be anxiously awaiting the next update. I loved the different POVs in this chapter - it is good to know everything that is happening in the battle to retake Edora and just hope things turn out in the end. Can't wait to see how Aragorn faces the Umbari in the end....

Author Reply: Hi Arwen. I know what you mean. It took me a while to figure out how to *respond* to reviews. *lol* Anyway, I'm glad you figured it out and I am even more glad that you are enjoying this story. I'm also happy that you liked the different POVs. I felt it only fair to let the readers know what was happening elsewhere in Edoras as Thengel fights to regain his throne. Sorry to leave it at a cliffhanger, but between the network being upgraded and my having to go to London for most of next week, I figured it would be easier to just wait until I got back to update with a new chapter. Thanks for letting me know how much you've been enjoying this story. I really appreciate it and look forward to more reviews from you in the future.

At least the wight is no longer there to support them with its terror! Heh!

Now, to take out the Umbari necromancer. And if anyone can do that, it would be Thorongil.

Author Reply: That's true, Larner. The enemy will have to rely on their own powers now. I think that will be Thorongil's first order of business: take out the Umbari. We'll see what happens in the next chapter.

Excuse me - you cannot leave us here - like this - with the enemy forces encompassing our friends.... YIKES!

Oh well - you do realize I will have no nails left by the time you return.

Great chapter - filled with mayhem and madness and tension and fear. Loved Denethor's not wanting to leave Aragorn - they will fight together in the future...

Glad Widfara is going to be ok.....

What a battle and on so many different fronts! Great job!!!!

Author Reply: Sorry, Agape. I didn't intentionally plan to leave this on a cliffhanger, but as it turns out, we got a notice saying the local network would be down for about a week while they upgrade it and it just happens to coincide with me going to London with Nina while she consults with her London doctors about upcoming treatments. Even in London, I'm not sure I'll have easy access to the internet so I figured I wouldn't worry about posting new chapters until I got back to Germany. By then our network should be up and running again.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked this chapter, even if it does end with you hanging by your nonexistent nails. *grin* When I first started writing this story I had decided that the POV would remain Aragorn's throughout so that the reader only knew what he knew. The only time I deviated from that was when Wídfara almost died. However, when I came to this chapter, I decided that it would be unfair to the readers to only know what Aragorn knows at this point and having to wait until someone told him what else was going on. So, the next few chapters while the battle for Edoras wages on, you will get various viewpoints.

Thanks for your review. I appreciate it.
