Elf, Interrupted: Book Two: Glorfindel's Quest  by Fiondil 5 Review(s)

Something bothers me about this leave takilng. I don't know what it is, but I feel a strong forboding. I hope I'm wrong.

Author Reply: You'll just have to wait and see, Tari. *grin*

Hm ... it rankles that they have to leave in secret, though I have to agree that it's the sensible way. The danger of more trouble when crossing through the city would be too big. So, in the end, I was glad all went smoothly and they got on board and out of the harbour without any problems. I just hope Thorongoron will understand. It's not his fault that things went so bad, after all.

Really look forward to know how things will proceed from here!

Author Reply: Hi, Kitty. Hopefully Thorongorn will understand and things will work out. I'm sure it rankled with many that they had to, in a sense, sneek away, but at least it all worked out. As to how things will proceed from here... that, of course, remains to be seen.

Clever means of escape they came up with. Things were getting way out of hand. I just feel sorry for Thorongorn. I hope Finrod did get a message out to him so he'd understand. That Progress really was a huge whirlwind adventure! My goodness! I wonder how things will go in Aman now after all of that craziness on Tol Eressea.

Author Reply: Glad you liked this chapter. Things were certainly getting out of hand and I think everyone needed a 'time out'. *grin* What happens next remains to be seen. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Well Arafinwe and Company have made a strtigic withdrawal, let's hope that those Tol Erresseans who welcomed them understand why they did it. The Solstice celebration is coming up, meybe they could have an impromptue Council then, even if it is only sitting round chatting!
Now to find out what Mr. Unpredictable will do next!

Author Reply: I am sure there will be some hurt feelings among some of them, but hopefully, in time, they will come to realize why the kings did as they did and accept it. As to what Mr. Unpredictable will do next.... *grin*

An interesting chapter, but I see the potential for future issues with the so-called leadership of Kortirion--and, sadder, a possibility that Thorongon being put in a position where, if he truly does feel betrayed by the Amanian trick, to where he will be less supportive of Finrod. I would hope that friendship would prove stronger than politics, but... we'll see. Too bad that Finrod wasn't able to at least leave a note with Meriel to give to Thorongon, letting him know that it wasn't meant to be a personal affront.

My laptop is still in the shop, so my reviews will continue to be dependent on getting onto someone else's machine, but I had to let you know that I was very pleased to get to read the new chapter!

Author Reply: Hi, Rhyselle. I'm glad you are able to get online occasionally I and hope you get your laptop back soon. Hopefully Thorongorn will not feel betrayed, though no doubt he feels hurt. Finrod did, of course, write a note to be given to him by Meril (that's never explicitly stated but it did happen) explaining what was happening and why. Hopefully that will make things better between them. We will have to wait and see what happens next.
