Just A Cold  by Aelaer 7 Review(s)

*clap!*clap!*clap!* That was a fun story! I can imagine poor Aragorn being smothered by well meaning guards and meetings and the like...most of his life he's lived on his own with no one to report to...now he has a whole kingdom AND a wife! I can certainly understand his need to break away, especially when he's not feeling up to par.

The opening banter between Aragorn and Faramir was hilarious! And I loved the overheard conversation about when he was Thorongil...I'm sure Aragorn was quite amused. And of course, knowing our ranger, he put himself in danger again to protect the innocent...our HERO! :)

I just hope Arwen goes easy on him in the morning...he needs a little TLC.

I really like Arwen in this chapter, calmly trying to reason with her boneheaded husband. I also like the servants, pretending not to notice the disheveled state of their king as he stumbles in the door. I can just see them gossiping about it later.

My husband would get outraged due to the anxiety he felt when I didn't get home on time. I feel with both of them at this point.

Now, to look at the deleted scenes. Heh!

Poor, poor Aragorn - it seems as if the Powers really dislike him... at least this day!

I laughed out loud when he thought of Arwen's response to his appearance... and then Faramir's! :-)

It appears our King has a mean streak or mischivious streak about him - the poor guards. Scalawag! I ROTFL when they responded to his presence!

Great chapter - I'm glad Arwen was not too caustic in her remarks. Though I had hoped she might have removed his boots????

As for the 'guard' - thanks for having someone tail him. It seemed appropraite and I hope they're not in trouble.

Lovely tale all the way around. Based on such a simple thing as a cold.... well, simple until one nasty sinus infection knocks you for a loop!

Great ending!

I particularly liked Arwen quoting Eowyn and I would have loved to see the faces of the two guards when Aragorn revealed his identity :)

It's wonderful to see the love (and fussing) between these two. And I'm glad Aragorn is safely tucked into bed. :)

That went surprisingly well for Aragorn - Arwen was rather understanding, all things considered, and I was glad for it, as he's already not well and a serious talking-to wouldn't help just now. And I was glad she understood that he sometimes simply has to escape the restraints of his office and to be only one person among many. Though I felt a little bit sorry for the guards who tried to protect him and were tricked once again ;-)

And I am very satisfied to know that he'll make the ruffians pay for the damage! They certainly deserve it.
