Filling In the Corners  by Celeritas 2 Review(s)

Kerry is so wise and so practical and long-thinking...somehow it makes me think he takes a good deal after his magnificent ancestor.

Author Reply: I've always loved the practicality of Merry Brandybuck, so it wasn't too difficult to guess that he very practically made sure that some of those traits would be passed down to his descendants.

What a delightful reason for being careful! Heh!

Author Reply: I like to think that hobbit society had Certain Boundaries, kept up more so that the young would have them to follow and rail against than for more practical reasons, as generally speaking hobbits are smart enough to judge well in specific cases of romance. I wouldn't be surprised if Sandra's parents knew of Kerry's affection for her all this while and privately kept an eye on them to make sure he wouldn't jump the gun.

But in the meantime it does make for a cute romance.
