Read and enjoyed this. Just thought I'd review. You do have a couple spelling errors though.

*giggles* Pippin may have been mistaken about the boating, but he's got the flattery down pat!

Incident with the sheep costume? :)

Author Reply: Yes, Pippin is very charming, isn't he?
The incident with the sheep costume is from "Merry had a Little Lamb". It's an older fiction of mine.

“Sounds that way,” Saradoc nodded. “I feel especially singled out since you and I are now drifting aimlessly in a boat.”

I have always liked Saradoc and this remark just makes me love him more - priceless!

Loved this, GW. Diamond's horror upon learning that Pip can swim, Merry's indignation that Pip has taken his boat......... And of course Diamond knows how to hook a future Thain.

Brilliant! *giggles*

Author Reply: Saradoc is one of my favorite characters for some reason. I am constantly putting him into my stories.

Thank you for the lovely review and I am very glad that you enjoyed it.

Ah, yes--she knows what she's after, and has hooked it firmly! Delightful! And Merry certainly appreciates Tooks in some ways better than Pippin does!

Thanks for a wonderful giggle!

Author Reply: You are most welcome. I'm very glad you enjoyed it. I do think Merry has a special insight into Tooks thanks to his Mother and Pippin. hehehe

"Now, I’m going back to Brandy Hall and try to forget that you can swim."

Awww! That's true love ;-)

Great story! I especially enjoyed Merry's and Saradoc's commentary!

Author Reply: Thank you. I suspect that as a Took and someone not comfortable around water, Diamond was better off not thinking about Pippin swimming. LOL It really must be true love.

I always enjoy writing Saradoc so it was fun to have him and Merry commenting on Pippin's situation. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thoroughly enjoyable. I love Merry and Saradoc's observations on Tooks and courting and lasses. And Diamond certainly knows how to handle her hobbit.

Author Reply: Thank you. I think Diamond will always have the upper hand in that relationship. : )

LOLOLOLOLOLOL! *howl*guffaw*giggle*chortle*chuckle*snort*wipes eyes!*

OK, this was just too funny! I loved the way you intertwined the two conversations-- but my favorite part was the reactions to Pippin's revelation that he could swim! That was a hoot! And Merry and Saradoc's running commentary the whole time...

Great story, GW! I love your Pippin and Diamond.

Author Reply: Thank you. I love the way you review with sound-words. It makes me feel like someone is in the room laughing. Then again, maybe I'm just hearing things. hehehe

I had fun letting Saradoc and Merry do the commentary as if it were a sporting event and I always enjoy writing Saradoc.

For some reason, I have always thought that if Pippin really could swim, it would be a source of some scandal among the Tooks since most hobbits were not very fond of the water. I could imagine Paladin trying to keep the topic from coming up and I could also see Diamond being completely shocked by it.

Glad you enjoyed this one and thanks so much for the lovely review!

“Diamond may not know anything about boating, but she’s a figured out exactly how to fish.”

What a great punchline! :D

Author Reply: Thank you! As always, I was a bit punchy when I wrote this.
Thanks for reviewing and I'm glad you liked it!

This is brilliant and absolutely delightful GW. Will we get to see Merry's retribution for Pippin planning to use his boat? Loved the relationships you show, especially Merry and is Dad.

Author Reply: Thank you. As always, I love the reviews that contain the word 'brilliant' in them.
I don't know if I'll get around to Merry's retribution or not but I am giving it some thought.
I have always had a thing for writing Saradoc. I don't know what it is about him but I do enjoy writing him. I'm glad you enjoyed this and thank you for reading!

LOL!

“I feel especially singled out since you and I are now drifting aimlessly in a boat.” I do like Saradoc. Got that dry sense of humour.

*sigh*

You can lead a Took to water, but you can't make 'em sink.

Author Reply: For some reason, I have always enjoyed writing Saradoc Brandybuck. I'm glad you enjoyed him in this one.
Not only does Diamond not have both oars in the water this time, she doesn't even know what oars are! Tooks and boats just don't seem to mix. Thanks for reading!

Oh, and the last line of your review would have made an excellent title for this one. : )
