Atto, I love the new uniforms and the gingerbread Imladris! I want a gingerbread Imladris...please? *grin* I think Glorfi can try to restrain himself in taking over, but we will see, tomorrow...oh, and Zach is doing great! Yay for Daeron! Love it so far. I eagerly await the sequel.

Tye-melin,

Kaylee

Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. I'm glad you love the new uniforms. They are definitely an improvement over what Deirdre and Marian came up with. And I wouldn't mind a gingerbread Imladris either. *grin* Tye-melin.

(I am back... And this time onwards I will try not to be nitpicky. :sheepish:)

Oh! Gingerbread Imladris! Wow. No wonder it was a wonder in the class! *grin* If only it were made here in our world somewhere... *sigh* :dreamy:

Ah... Glorfindel the champion of the weaker (or not so LOL)... One might wonder how he kept being a protector even after those millennia... Wow. He is so consistant. *grin*

I love the clothes hunting. In a way, it was just like hunting game! You magicked what should have been a rather boring activity into a grand adventure! Hah, and this chapter did not look like an interlude at all... *roll eyes* It had quite many things inside! So many interesting things...

Hmm. I wonder if things will tie up soon. I dearly hope you will not leave threads hanging loose in the end of the story. *glare* (Ah yes. And that reminds me that I must go on to the next chapter...)

The choosing of the names for the students will be interesting to read, I am sure! I hope it comes soon. (Heh. The women in charge griped about the thing they had caused themselves... Hmm. I think they deserved it.) Will the Valar (any of them) make an appearance in later chapters?

- Rey

Author Reply: This chapter is entitled "Interlude" since it covers a variety of events across a span of weeks, none of them earthshaking in themselves. It was a way of moving the story forward to the second half of the term without getting into unnecessary details about what they were doing during that time.

Which Vala (if any) shows up later will be revealed in later chapters. I don't understand why people insist on asking an author questions that he or she simply will not answer because to do so will spoil the story. You will just have to wait and see. *grin*

Ah yes, that's our Glorfindel, always taking over as the leader and protecting the others!

The outfit Sally put together for them sounds so much better than what the College had provided before. Not to mention that it is much more practical and warm.

My office has been flooded with irrate emails since yesterday. Glad to hear that! Really don't mind - they brought it on themselves, after all *evil grin*

Glad that Daeron is able to help Zach. And I absolutely love the idea of a gingerbread Imladris. That must have been a sight to behold!

Hmmm ... sit back and watch? Maybe Glorfindel plans to do that, but somehow I keep having the feeling that in the end, something will happen and force him to take charge again.

Author Reply: Hi, Kitty. Yes, Glorfindel is the consumate protector of the weak (and not so weak). I am glad you approve of the outfits. I wonder if this chapter will inspire someone to construct a gingerbread Imladris based on stills from the LOTR movie. *grin* That would be fun to see.

As to what Glorfindel ends up doing... that we will see soon enough.

Love the outift. Aren't we just all fashionable with our elves lately between this story and Findarato Diaries? Can't wait to see what the ex-marine has to teach them.

Author Reply: Glad you like the outfit, ellie. And let's face it.... I just *love* dressing up my Elves... and Valar. *LOL* We will see soon enough what if anything the ex-marine can teach them.

I love the sound of those "uniforms"! The hats and scarves sound especially distinctive. I was tickled at Glorfindel using his own name for his "nom d'elf"-- and I'm guessing the other five will do the same. I wonder what some of the mortal kids will come up with for their elf names.

It's not surprising that Glorfindel has decided to "champion" the kids; I think that all of the Elves would feel a bit protective of their classmates.

(On a more serious side-note: the idea of his "keeping watch" over the twins' drinking made me wonder about how Elves who stayed in the "modern world" would have dealt over the millenia with the tedium and boredom and constant losses of living among mortals without fading-- I wonder how serious the temptations to certain types of addictions might have been for them. I know it has no place in a light-hearted story such as this-- but it did make me think!)

Author Reply: What the Mortals come up with for their nom d'elf will be revealed in a later chapter. The reaction of the Elves to them will I think be quite amusing.

Glorfindel has always been a protector and so it is not unusual for him to take up that role where his classmates are concerned even if it's just to protect them from dying of embarrassment. *grin* I am glad you like the sound of the uniforms. I think they are quite distinctive and in good taste, myself.

As for your side-note.... even in a light-hearted story there are, or should be, depths to it that make the reader think outside the box, so to speak and ponder the consequences such as you describe. Nothing wrong with that, so long as a person remembers that this is indeed a light-hearted story and not to be taken too seriously. *grin*

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 11 on 12/16/2009
I'm certain he has much to both teach and learn of survival in the modern world.

Lovely outfits, I think!

Author Reply: I am glad you like the outfits, Larner, and Glorfindel has much to teach but it does not follow that he will want to and perhaps he hopes to learn something instead.
