Another Moment of your Time  by Larner 4 Review(s)

So much said in such a short story! Really brilliant.

Writing down what you feel is always a good idea to sort your thoughts and clear your mind. But Frodo went even further and turned the "offending" words into a statement of love and blessing.

Maybe it was kind of a reward that he was granted a glimpse of the future, of Sam and Rosie and their children, just that night.

Author Reply: I suspect it was intended to be a reward of sorts, to know that Sam's first child was now conceived. And I certainly found writing out my frustrations helped to make things easier to sort through in a productive manner.

Thanks so for the comments, and I apologize for being so late in responding, Andrea.

That's a lot to experience in one short time - rage, grief, relief, joy, love - I'm glad the Ring did not win in the end but love did, as it must, being stronger :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: But yes, Frodo had a full emotional workout on this, with, as you note, Love winning in the end. And I think that the Powers--and the One above the rest--would want for Frodo to realize his own sacrifice has borne fruit. Thanks so!

Oh what a heart-achingly sad look at Frodo's feelings but also a fabulously brilliant example of how a shift in perception can turn grief into joy and lay a blanket of comfort over keenly felt hurt and regret- not to lose those emotions but to have them muted just a little.
Beautifully written as always Larner. Thank you for sharing.

BTW I am having a bit of a 'Larner-fest' at the moment and taking time to re-read your early works. I have just delighted myself with Ties of Family and fondly remember our discussions over 'brothers of the heart'.
Hoping all is well with you and yours.

Author Reply: Thank you so, Liz. Have been reading some of my stories to a new client, who finds them a good distraction from the agonies of a debilitating disease. I wish I could come over. Hope that both your new PM and our so-called President both get their rightful due soon, and that both realms find the peace and return to fulfillment that the Shire knew from the return of the Travellers. Hope that perhaps in a year I might travel your way along with friends who wish to visit England with me to serve as a guide to my favorite haunts.

She came to him, placing a golden sun-star blossom in his hand

Oh, how lovely. Frodo is so brave, so honest, so deserving of healing. No wonder I can't stop writing about it! Thank you for this loving story.

Author Reply: Yes, he is so deserving of being healed indeed. Thanks so, Shirebound!
