I also thank Wenont for not letting you quit. This story is way too good to just drop.

Haleth is now as the first born. Why not, I say. With Iluvatar, anything is possible. I know the end is approaching and will sorely miss reading this tale.

Author Reply: Thank-you, Tari. The end might not be as soon as you expect. Nothing is simple for these two.

I have only one thing to say: INGLOR!!! :)

Author Reply: It was a long wait, but Inglor is back. Thanks for your patience and the review.

So I'm slightly confused. If Haleth was alive BEFORE the fall of Númenor, and certainly Námo's questions suggest this, then she's been wandering around Middle-earth for well over 3000 years, so how is it she becomes immortal only after Inglor gives her the limpë? Enquiring minds want to know.*grin* Great chapter. Loved the Valar in this, especiall Námo, who is my personal favorite. Looking forward to the next chapter with great anticipation.

Author Reply: The time doesn't add up at all, but Haleth isn't aware of that yet. It looks like no one else really knows where's she's been or what she's been doing all of that time; or at least no one's ready to explain this.

I'm very happy that you thought the Valar were well presented. It's hard to imagine interactions between a (mostly) regular mortal and a group of beings that are extremely powerful nonhumans. I imagine they would have to be extremely careful with her.

Thank-you for the review.

**She gave her life to me,’ said Inglor. **

Oh my goodness - she did, didn't she?

And what a good reason for me to go back and re-read, too!

Author Reply: Yes, she did. He likely guessed it would come in handy some day. I guess the moral is to never make dire, offhand comments to elves.

Thank-you for the review.

Which begs the question - why did he give it to her and why didn't he tell her the ramifications? Lots more expiation of guilt and misunderstandings to come, I fear.... (or not - perhaps they'll just talk properly and clearly and explain what they feel?)

Author Reply: He might have told her. She was completely delerius at the time. She might not remember.

"...perhaps they'll just talk properly and clearly..."

The story would be much, much shorter if they did that on a regular basis!

Thank-you for reviewing, Freyalyn.
