'Til Death Do Us Part  by Haleth 5 Review(s)

Hurrah! I had a reminder for this chapter on Sunday morning but hadn't time to read - what a pleasure to remember it this evening.

Poor Haleth is having such trouble adjusting - and yet there are clearly other people who have their own sorrows, too like Anairė still mourning, and still with 'family problems' unresolved.

I presume Haleth is going to try to make the trip from Tol Eressėa to seek her long lost home - unless a hobbit or two can persuade her not to. There again it would be an awfully big adventure - she might have a couple of stow-aways!

I am still fretting over where Inglor is, of course.

Author Reply: Hello Curiouswombat.

It has been quite a while since the last chapter was posted, hasn't it? I appreciate your extended patience.

Haleth really doesn't know if she's coming or going. If she were any less self-absorbed, she might try to think of a way to help Anaire.

You're right. Haleth has ulterior motives for going to Tol Eressea.

Inglor will be back soon.

Thank-you for reviewing.

Now I would like to know more about these tapestries that seem to move. And now we find that Anaire, too, has problems of her own. Perhaps it's a family thing?? Looking forward to more, as always.

Author Reply: Hello Freyalyn

I didn't make up the tapestries. They're mentioned somewhere in one of the Books of Lost Tales. I feel for Anaire and for the otherw who stayed. They all lost so much but the loss was communal and private at the same time. Everyone would have lost someone. Most people would have lost quite a few. I think of it as a reflection of British society after World War I when so many men were gone.

Thank-you for taking the time to review.

So glad to see more!

And it seems some progress is being made. More mysteries, inevitably.

but the time is not yet right -- Well, I hope it will be right soon! Can't meet her own great-grandson yet ... good heavens ... *grumble grumble* And she could meet the hobbits too! *seriously wonders if Anairė is nuts*

Author Reply: Thank-you eiluj. There are many mysteries in the Undying Lands. If Haleth weren't so self-absorbed, she might find unravelling them interesting.

Anaire's attitude is purely the result of authorial invention. I know that most fan fiction set in Valinor has the Exiles settled on the main continent with varying degrees of conflict between those who stayed and those who went to Middle-earth. I approach the situation from a slightly different angle.

Thanks for reviewing.

At long last, a new chapter! An interesting, if brief, scene between Haleth and Anairė and her discussion about her family. I look forward to reading more, especially Haleth's return to Tol Eressėa. I wonder if Inglor will follow her there? He is such an enigma at times.

Author Reply: I almost fell over when I realized the chapter before this had been posted in April. Inglor has been conspicuous by his absence. He'll be back soon. I seldom try to write from his POV because I find it very difficult to get into the head of a several thousand year old individual. What would that be like? The mental landscape would be quite alien, but not completely so.

Thank-you for taking the time to review Fiondil.

Hi Haleth.Thank you for the next chapter in your wonderful story.I feel for Anairė,even though she has lost much she can still find some joy in life.As for Haleth,I hope she finds what she is looking for. Can't wait to hear more about a certain elf.Looking forward to the next chapter.LOL Galathil

Author Reply: Hello, Galathil. Thank-you for being so patient. Anaire lost just about everything; her husband and all four of her children. Anyone who can survive that sort of loss without being twisted by bitterness is a stong person indeed. Although it would be difficult to complain when so many others had suffered the same and worse.

Inglor will be back soon.

Thank-you for reviewing.
