'Til Death Do Us Part  by Haleth 10 Review(s)

I really am feeling a very strong temptation to just give Haleth a big whack round the head. But I'm sure you're planning a metaphorical one for her, sooner or later.

Author Reply: Hello Freyalyn

Yes. That might get her attention. Maybe. If she wasn't too busy feeling sorry for herself. She's got to come around eventually. She's literally got all of the time in the world to do so.

Thanks for the review.

Oh boy! I hope it's unfounded, but I really feel worried for poor Inglor. He must be feeling immensely guilty about making Haleth immortal and now he can only stand by and watch her miserable in Valinor. It must be like watching a wild exotic animal trying to pace in a small cage! The real heart of the matter is of course their relationship, or lack thereof. I just hope there aren't any serious consequences for Inglor's or Haleth's lack of communication. (Then again it wouldn't be a great story without it!)

Huge round of applause for this story! I've even did research on elvish customs to get a new perspective Inglor's behavior. It only proves how addicting your story is. I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author Reply: Hello

...Actually, your worry isn't unfounded. However, at the rate I'm currently writing, I won't get around to that particular story until the year 2020.

You researched elvish customs! Awesome! It's incredible how much work and thought Professor Tolkien put into this world. What interesting things did you find?

Thanks for the review.

Haleth is back! Yeah! I had to reread the previous chapter because I forgot what she was looking for.

Poor Inglor is always the recepient of her anger. Now that she once again realizes the error of her ways, it may be too late. Hopefully Inglor will come back. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Author Reply: Hello Tari

Haleth is (was?) back.

Inglor is always the target for Haleth's rage. At first it was because he was the only one there. Now it's because she blames him for her current state but is too proud to admit there's anything wrong or to ask for help. Inglor has his pride, too. Haleth has to find a way to adjust that doesn't involve using other people as punching bags for her bad moods.

Thank-you for the review.

I enjoyed this chapter and hope to see more soon. It would be hard being a former mortal amogn all those elves.

Author Reply: Hello Mysterious Jedi.

It would be incredibly difficult to be a former mortal living among the Elves. You'd always be the slowest, the least skilled, the worst looking and just generally last at everything we use to judge ourselves against others. I've seen so many stories where the plot is 'mortal girl becomes immortal and lives happily forever afterwards with her elf husband' that I wanted to explore how and why the situation wouldn't necessarily make someone happy.

Thank-you for the review.

Hurrah for a new chapter - the knowledge that it was waiting for me helped work go quickly!

I feel sorry for poor Elrond getting no visitors. You'd think his parents might have called...

But oh Haleth is right - perhaps she's really done it this time. And Inglor really needs a chat with Elrond too, for enlightenment. One day Inglor and Haleth will finally have a conversation where they both speak clearly and listen to each other... maybe!

Author Reply: Hello curiouswombat

Poor Elrond and all of the other Exiles on Tol Eressea. The no visitors is completely my idea, of course. There's a whole convoluted reason for it which I won't bore you with.

Haleth needs to find better ways of dealing with her problems; something beyond yelling at Inglor whenever things go wrong. But the day that the two of them sit and talk, listen and understand each other will likely be the last chapter of their tales.

Thank-you for the review.

Another well-done chapter. This is the only story I come to this site to read. Looking forward to seeing what will become of this little situation.

Author Reply: Hello egallis

I hope the resolution, when it eventually comes, doesn't disappoint. Thank-you for continuing to read the story, even though there are months between updates.

Elrond is giving Haleth some sound advice, but I think the one who needs his advice even more is Inglor, the silly elf. He's really clueless about mortals, especially Haleth. Thanks for updating. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Author Reply: Hello Fiondil

Inglor, for all that's he's very intelligent, really doesn't understand mortals; especially female mortals. He likely thinks he's being more than obvious but Haleth doesn't really have a clue about Elvish social cues either. They talk past each other all of the time without realizing it. Yet they've spent so much time together that Haleth expects Inglor to understand her, even though the evidence is very clear that he doesn't.

They've both clueless.

Thank-you for the review.

Thank you for updating; I am very glad you are continuing to post it. Only this chapter ends on a terrible cliffhanger, of course. When did Inglor say Haleth he couldn't bear to live without her? I don't think he ever did - unfortunately; it would have been fun to read that scene.

Author Reply: Hello twoflower.

Well, dang. I
thought I'd put that line in the story somewhere. He might have told her when she was passed out or too angry to listen or not paying attention. Or...I might have made a mistake. That's more likely. I'll have to go and fix it.

Thanks for pointing out the error. I'm really amazed by people who read the story so carefully!

If you find any more errors, please let me know. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Forgot to add,I hope that Haleth listens to and takes Elrond's advice to heart.
Lets hope Haleth's latest venture, finally gives her something worthwhile to do. Also brings her and everybody body else some much needed peace. Hope this makes sense. LOL Galathil

Author Reply: Elrond's advice is very good. Haleth should follow it.

Knowing Haleth, she'll try and then fail spectacularly.

Thanks for the review.

Oh thank you for another wonderful chapter!Hope the two of them can get past this latest spat.Mind you though, I wouldn't mind banging their heads together, they are both so stubborn.Wonder if they will ever marry? If they do I think that their kids will just as wonderful if some what stubborn. (wonder if the blessed realm will survive when they finally marry) I really can't wait for the next chapter.Lots of love Galathil.

Author Reply: Hello Galathil

A lot of people want to bang their heads together. They are both extremely stubborn, but in completely different ways. And they always talk past each other instead of actually communicating.

Thank-you for the review.
