In the Court of the High King  by Dreamflower 5 Review(s)
FiondilReviewed Chapter: 16 on 7/11/2013
Good to see this story finally being continued, Dreamflower. It will be interesting to see how the court goes and what reaction there will be to Aragorn's judgment. I vaguely remember the incident that's mentioned here but I can't remember where to find it. Perhaps you can add a note or a link to it so others can read or re-read it and refresh their memories.

Author Reply: It's definitely continued and (hopefully) back on track! I was dissatisfied with my first draft of Ch. 16, but after scrapping it, I had a few months of being blocked on how to fix it; now fixed and posted, I feel like I can move forward again.

The story was "The Archives Incident". Good idea about the link, and I will edit that in!

Great update to the story. I am anxious to see what punishments Aragorn has contrived. Thanks

Author Reply: I'm hoping to get back to a regular schedule of posting, so the next chapter should be up soon.

Ah! It does appear that the punishments planned will serve to teach responsibility. I don't blame the two Men for being apprehensive at first--the new King is in great part an unknown entity, after all. But they are finding out he's their kind of King, I suspect!

Author Reply: I suspect they are. But even when one knows one has done nothing to offend, it's still nerve-wracking to be called into the presence of authority. And, as you said, they still don't know the new King all that well.

But I think both of them will be pleasantly surprised.

Interesting: one to do accounts, and the other to copy books (to be sent to the Shire, I suppose)?

So glad to see another chapter!

Author Reply: Well, let's say the two of them will be put to work in those areas!

So glad to finally get another one ready--I think I may be over my block for this story now.

The only time that he had spoken with the King was that unfortunate accident, when he had locked the Ringbearer and the Ernil i Pheriannath in the Archives.

Still one of my favorite stories! :)

I'm so pleased to see an update to this tale, and look forward to more.

Author Reply: *grin* It's also still one that I had a lot of fun writing!

I actually had a chapter long ago, but as I looked it over before posting, I decided it was awful--so I scrapped it completely. Then it took me this long to figure out how it should have gone!
