Awww, poor Finwe, poor Miriel, and especially poor Feanaro! That's all I can say about this one...Beautiful and sad.

An impossible question to answer. Poignantly lovely.

You know, I think a situation like this would be worst for Noldor, who aren't content to accept the way of things like the Vanyar without some sort of information. Tragic, especially for Feanor since we know how he turns out as a result of all this.

Author Reply: I would get so mad at Miriel for "giving up" the way she did. I know that had she not succumbed to fading and abandoned her family, then Finrod (not to mention a whole horde of Noldorin descendents) would never have come to be, and the history of Middle Earth would have been much poorer for the lack of him (and them) in it, but so much grief would also have been spared.

One day I need to explore Miriel's side of the story--the Muse being willing.

I've never understood why Miriel left her husband and child either. Very poignant and well-written drabble, reflecting the huge gap that Miriel left in the lives of Finwe and Feanaro...

Author Reply: Thanks for reviewing! Part of me wants to dive into an exploration of Miriel's choice to fade and abandon her family but I really don't have time to do that right now. Maybe someday...

I'm pleased you like my NaQuaWriMo offerings.
