Estel Counts  by Larner 6 Review(s)

Love this imagine. The buck watches over his herd from afar, just as Estel will one day watch the Shire, and later his kingdom.

Author Reply: Indeed--just the image I was hopeing to conjure!

Thank you so, GamgeeFest!

Elrohir will be delighted to see what a great leader and protector his "small brother" will be in the future!

Author Reply: Oh, but I am certain that he will! Elrohir and Elladan both did their own parts in seeing to it this one of their father's fosterlings was well prepared for his destiny.

Well, I'm sure Aragorn will do as well as Bambi there! *grin* Great Prince of the Forest...or Lost Prince of Isildur's line, as may be. He'll make a good Chieftain, and no doubt an even better King!

Author Reply: I so agree! The stag has ever been a sign of lordship, and with reason.

Another nice foreshadowing Larner. And with his Imladris family watching over Estel and sheltering him with constant vigilance they, too, are like the stag.

Author Reply: Yes, they are indeed much as the stag, watching over the herd. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments, Harrowcat!

Aragorn the Ranger does call to mind a magnificant stag! Hehe - I'm also reminded a bit of Bambi here. :)

Author Reply: That he does, as well as Aragorn the King. As for the feeling of Bambi--hey, but it works, doesn't it? Thanks.

It's these unexpected, deceptively-simple lessons that tend to stay with us the longest, I think.

Author Reply: I do so agree, Shirebound. Thanks so very much!
