Estel Counts  by Larner 11 Review(s)
GamgeeFestReviewed Chapter: 19 on 12/25/2010
LOL! Even in ME, socks wander astray! :D

Author Reply: I think, GamgeeFest, that the loss of the odd sock is universal in nature! Heh!

TeresaReviewed Chapter: 19 on 12/20/2010
Chuckle....so even in Rivendell socks disappear! I wonder if that happens in Lothlorien too? Hmmm..... :)

Author Reply: Oh, yes--I must assume it is a universal phenomenon! Heh!

Maybe a certain hobbit told the Elves (or Estel) about certain Yule traditions and they wanted to try it out ;-)

Author Reply: But what hairy-footed Hobbit would think of hanging out stockings? After all, it is unlikely they would even be familiar with such garments from personal experience. Mittens, perhaps, or maybe even hats....

But it is an intriguing thought, Andrea. Heh!

Kaylee ArafinwielReviewed Chapter: 19 on 12/19/2010
So sock-eating monsters existed even before dryers!!!! LOL!!!! Hm, maybe the twins took them for a prank?

Hmm, what a mysterious mystery...Well crafted, Larner!

(So...where DID they go?)

Kaylee Arafinwiel

Author Reply: I suspect that socks have been getting lost throughout the history of mankind, Kaylee. And it was indeed fun to write this enduring mystery into Middle Earth! Heh! (And you tell me--where DO they go?)

LOL, even Rivendell is beset by the disappearing sock monster!

Author Reply: Apparently so, Shirebound. Heh!

ArmarielReviewed Chapter: 19 on 12/19/2010
Oh my! The Realm of Lost Socks does go back a long way, what?:-O

Author Reply: That it does appear to do, Armariel. Ain't it a hoot?

Ah, so the wash tubs in Imladris have black holes for socks to disapear into do they, just like present day washing machines!
Lynda

Author Reply: So I suspect, Lynda. I suspect socks have ALWAYS loved to go missing! Heh!

Kitt OtterReviewed Chapter: 19 on 12/19/2010
I too wish to know the answer to that question!

Author Reply: Don't we all!

EllynnReviewed Chapter: 19 on 12/19/2010
Ok, now you made me really really really curious. Any chance you'd give us the sequel with the solution of this mystery?

Author Reply: I've not found the answer in sixty years of life, at least fifty of which have included wondering this very question. Do you think the wisdom of Elrond could solve it?

CairistionaReviewed Chapter: 19 on 12/19/2010
Ha! Even in Rivendell, socks go mysteriously missing!

Author Reply: I do suspect even there the curse strikes!
