So that's why the messages never got through! Ick. :(

Author Reply: Well, it seemed impossible to my mind that the hobbits would not have written home once it was safe to do so! But of course the world was still unsettled and it would be hard for messages to get through-- and though none knew it, the war in the North was not quite over yet!

Very good! Those four letters tell a lot about the writers.

I especially liked Sam's letter and this sentence:

Please Marigold when next you see her will you tell Rosie Cotton hello for me?

I bet he would have loved to say much more to Rosie, but Marigold will know that, too.

Too bad, that the letters didn't make it to the Shire!

Author Reply: Yes it is. The muse did not tell me what happened to them. Perhaps it will, one of these days...

I just loved these letters, especially Sam's. How sad only one of the four ever got delivered.

Author Reply: Perhaps one day I will find out what happened to the rest of them! But my muse wouldn't tell me that this time.

I greatly enjoyed these letters. Every one of them rings true.

Author Reply: Thank you! Don't you know they would have tried to write home! And I'm glad you think they feel true!
