A Journey through Arda  by Larner 3 Review(s)
MirachReviewed Chapter: 2 on 4/1/2011
This is really chilling! I would never imagine that someone of the Noldor would go back to meet Fingolfin. It is a very brave act, and refusal of Feanor's leadership. I hope he survived, and met his family!

Author Reply: I so agree, Mirach. Feanor's growing madness must have disturbed at least some of those who'd originally been moved by him in Tirion.

Thanks so very much, and for your patience in awaiting responses!

I've only read The Silmarillion once so not anywhere as familiar with the tale as with hobbits but I remember the events described here and I'm glad that someone woke up and had some sense! I like the ending the most. Will be taking my usual Lenten fast from hobbity reading but will get through as much as I can and know that I will have much to look forward to after Easter!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I've read it twice now, and graze on it a bit. I mostly am writing these, as others have done as well, with a LOT of reference to the Encyclopedia of Arda so as to make as certain as I can I'm getting chronology and characters right, although I'm sure I'll have more than a few errors by the time the month is over.

And you certainly will have a good deal to read when Easter comes!

What a poignant story! I sympathize with Olwion - he must be feeling terribly because of what he had done, and I agree with his every word about Feanor.
You did a perfect job here. ;)

Author Reply: Oh, thanks so very much, Ellynn. Writing to these prompts is proving educational as I do my best to keep all within canon for the Silm, which isn't anywhere as familiar to me as is LOTR. We're supposed to get to LOTR locations as well--eventually, at least. I'll be waiting to see! Heh!
