Nicely done for such a horrific moment.

I had to smile with Elrond deciding to lead the rescue/retrieval mission. A captain does not leave his ship. You gave a very good reason for his going.

Author Reply: Thank you. I´m glad Elrond sounded true despite his decision to come. Special happenings require special measures. I´m glad for your smile. Lai

Comfort can be so difficult to accept when the pain and grief are so very new. Now--to live for her son!

Author Reply: how true. Hopefully she can find the strenght to remain. Thanks for letting me know your thoughts. Lai

I'm glad that Elrond let his sons go with him and Erestor as well. They will be a big help and comfort and support along the way. Elrond is so sweet in his comfort and support of the widow and in his practicality of approach to her at this difficult time. That ending was very sad indeed. Poor little guy!

Author Reply: I think he will need all the support and his sons are adults after all but to bring condolence is the hardest part and I do not envy him. Thank you so much for reading and letting me know your thoughts. Lai

A very sad chapter full of angst and sorrow and pain, Lai. The emotions of everyone were well written and believable under the circumstances. Looking forward to more.

Author Reply: I´m glad the display of emotions worked. It´s a sad situation after all. Thank you so much for reviewing, Fiondil. I appreciate it very much. Lai
