A Long-Expected Wedding  by Fiondil 11 Review(s)
KittyReviewed Chapter: 14 on 12/25/2011
Oh yes, I can so see Glorfindel sneaking off with elflings to go swinging in a tree. He's not going to grow up any time soon, does he? I wouldn't be too surprised if he did it centuries later with elflings Elladan and Elrohir as well.

*sigh* While I understand that Glorfindel was annoyed with the two Reborn and didn't feel like keeping them occupied any longer, he still should have been a bit more responsible – particularly as he wants to be taken seriously. But I guess he could not have known they would end up in that much trouble, and from the looks of it he was quite hurt when they complained that he was no fun.

I can't help but feel sorry for Arafinwë for having to put up with all these Reborn. One really needs the patience of a saint for them ... though the King is doing good job on it.

Glorfindel's explanation about the delayed wedding brings so many lovely memories up about having tea with a balrog ... ;)

I can't say I blame Finrod for being close to just elope with Amarië and escape all these unpleasant incidents, even if it wouldn't help him in any way in the long run, on the contrary. It has to be quite frustrating for him.

What is the matter with Aldundil now?? You know, it's good that I am so far behind with reading and reviewing, that way you can't torture me with cliffhangers :P

Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Glorfindel is maturing but he's still got a way to go and so little things will still set him off, like the other Reborn saying he's no fun. What kid wants to hear that? *grin*

Anyway, Arafinwë seems to be holding his own for now.

And since you already know what has happened I can't say "wait until the next chapter" *LOL!*

Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.

What now? Just one crisis averted and the next arrives. It will be a long wait for the wedding...

Author Reply: Well you can't complain of being bored, though, can you, obsidianj? LOL! Anyway, we'll see in the next chapter what Finrod's fainting is all about. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I very much appreciate it.

I've been wondering how elves swing in trees. Is it like humans, or do they have their own style.

Author Reply: I'm sure they do it just like us humans do, Tari. *grin*

One trouble cleared up and another inflicted? Alas! What has befallen Aldundil, then?

Author Reply: We'll find out soon enough what happened to Aldundil and why Finrod fainted, never fear. And with this lot, there's always trouble. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing, Larner. I appreciate it very much.

Glorfindel might be technically right in this 'I never said I would be their minder' business, but if I'd have pulled that nonsense around my parents when I was young, my parents would not have been impressed. I don't imagine either Finrod or Ingwion will make the mistake of trusting the Balrog Slayer like they have.

It's a very nice touch making Glorfindel more mature when he's with more mature elves, and immature with the immature elves.

Finrod's going to have to lump having a big wedding isn't he? It's a shame most of the participants are bent on massaging their own egos rather than making the event a true celebration.

I feel sorriest for Ingalaure and Intarion; they have been rather abandoned the last few hours and paid the heaviest price for it.

Author Reply: Hi Tkid. I'm sure most of us, if we'd pulled that particular nonsense around our parents, would have been given the facts of life on a silver platter with no doubt as to the outcome. Glorfindel, of course, is in a slightly different situation and both Finrod (who is a Reborn and should know better how Reborn think) and Ingwion will have to be very careful about such assumptions as they made here in the future.

Glorfindel is very good in taking on the characteristics of those around him, allowing him to blend in more. It's probably a survival instinct for him. LOL!

Ingalaure and Intarion are still quite 'young', even more so than Glorfindel, and they tend to be impulsive, as most younglings are, but they'll learn discretion eventually as they continue to mature and reclaim the memories of their former lives.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Poor Glorfy *snicker* having to sneak away from Aewellondë toget a good swining session in a tree. But it wouldn't surprise me if Eärendil knows more about what Glorfindel is doing when he sneaks away than he lets on.
So the rumor-spreaders are sent to one room to cool their heels (and presumably sweat a bit), and the witnesses are sent to another room while the King deals with the Reborn.
Hmm. "One upset Reborn is enough to deal with." And right now there are four of them right in the palace. Even if Finrod is bored, I am certain nobody else is! Bored Reborn are a threat to anyone's sanity! And health ... I really wonder what trouble the Vorondils have gotten into that Aldundil is trying to get them out of and getting injured in the process? Hopefully he won't be too badly hurt!

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. I suspect that Eärendil knows more about Glorfindel's whereabouts than he lets on, too, wiley ellon that he is. *grin*

Bored Reborn are a threat to civilization as we know it, never mind a threat to one's sanity or health. LOL! We'll see in the next chapter just what the deal is with Aldundil.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

Hi Atto,

Ingilince, hmm? That's adorable :) I'm glad the "trial" went well enough and everything got sorted, and I'm really glad Intarion's ok!!! Poor Inti and Ingil *huggles the Reborn*

Glorfindel and his trees! Heh! Someday, someone has to draw that. I wish I could.

Oh dear Valar, the head gardener. He reminds me of Emma's and my head gardener for Greenwood, Echuiaeron. Very amusing, how alike they are *giggles*

But now Finda's fainted! I guess lunch will be on hold again! And...what happened to Aldundil?! for that matter, how's his wife doing? And how's Vondo and Vorondil?? You realize I CAN'T wait until Wednesday again?? *exasperated sigh at cliffies of doom* =P Eagerly awaiting Friday for IDB!

Tye-melin,

Kaylee

Author Reply: Hi, Kaylee. Poor Inti and Ingil, indeed! But they are now back in the caring bosom of their family so that's all right.

I suspect that head gardeners all very much the same, believing that the gardens are theirs and they only let others play in them. *grin*

We'll see what happened to Aldundil in the next chapter and why Finda fainted. As for Aldundil's wife, I have no idea. Vondo and Vorondil have been with Aldundil and Herendil on a camping trip while everything else has been going on. We'll see how they fared in the next chapter.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it. Tye-melin.

Well, that sent them off with a flea in the ear, maybe now they will be a little more circumspect in what they say out in public!

I have a feeling Finrods collapse has to do with the Life Oath he holds with Adundil! By the way, how is his wife coming along with Vaire and Miriel?

Waiting for Wednesday.
Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. Hopefully they will be more circumspect in what they say in public. And you're right about Finrod's collapse being connected with his Life Oath with Aldundil and we'll see what that is all about in the next chapter. As for Aldundil's wife, I have no idea. Vaire hasn't given me a progress report yet. *grin*

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

OK, I know who is Aldundil, just a memory lapsus. It is hard to track everybody!!

Author Reply: No problem, Fantasia. I know it can be confusing trying to remember who is who. Glad you were able to figure it out.

FantasiaReviewed Chapter: 14 on 9/7/2011
Now what? I'm so confuse. Why did he faint? Have I missed something? What is the meaning of Aldundil?

Just for the fun of gossip, it is so good that Finrod is a male, because if "he" were a "she" after that faint, people will be saying that they definitely anticipated their vows.

I didn't like Amarie's mother too much, but after her support to Ingalaurë in the Council, I like her better, and honestly, if I were her, I could still be very mad with Finrod.

For a moment, I thought that you will give us a spoiler for IDB, show us Ingalaurë’s death, but I guess that we have to wait….

Author Reply: Hi Fantasia. No you didn't miss anything. We'll find out why Finrod fainted in the next chapter.

Almariel, like anyone, has her good points and bad. Here we're seeing her at her worse, but I think things like weddings (and funeral) tend to bring out the worst of people in such stressful situations. And you are corret that she still holds some resentment against Finrod for deserting her daughter.\

No spoiler, but a faint hint of things to come. We'll see how Ingalaurë dies soon enough and then his words and gesture will make sense.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.
