The Name of a King  by Mirach 4 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: 5 on 7/4/2011
At least he is realistic enough to recognize the ridiculous figure he cuts in those clothes, and has enough self-esteem to realize that he's not belittled by this, and it's okay for all, including himself, to laugh--and then just get on with what is necessary.

Lovely tale here!

Author Reply: The last scene is a sort of control exercize to see when he has learned in this story =) Lesson one: No matter how you look like, or what the others think, only that you know who you are is important. Lesson two: A title does not make a man better than others, and only the one who can be critical to himself and laugh at himself deserves it. =)

Thank you for your reviews, I'm glad you liked the story!

Thank you for posting this Mirach. I enjoyed it very much and will return to ponder it again. Two characters that we rarely see together. I like your take on Tom.

I know no fear.
Just the borders of my land, for they are the borders of me.

What a perfect description of explanation of who Tom is. And what a marvelous ending! I enjoyed this story very much.
