Vairė Was a Weaver, or, Real Men Wear Corsets  by Celeritas 3 Review(s)

I can sympathize with Arwen. I can't wear gold, either- makes me look sickly, for some reason. I'm interested to see where this story goes, especially as you said it was partly inspired by Pratchett, one of my favorite authors :)

Now, this sounds most interesting. I can wear most golds, but no black near my face--best way on earth to make me appear to be a zombie.

But it does appear that there will be--interesting--times upcoming in the new King's household. And love that she is uncertain how to dress herself in this Mannish court!

Author Reply: Black has that quality on a lot of people. But black's considered a "cool" color and gold a "warm" one, and I imagine that Aragorn's time in the wild would have given him enough of a tan that he could pull off warmer looks. Arwen, on the other hand, would have to be "cool" all the way through. And learning proper protocol has got to be difficult if you've been raised in an environment where no one has to prove their nobility by what they wear, etc.

Author Reply: I'm so glad you're enjoying this, Galathil! Never underestimate the power of a character that is bored, eh?
