Great Expectations  by Antane 4 Review(s)

Man, I want to visit this library!

Author Reply: It would neat, wouldn't it? Anytime spent with Faramir would be great.

I love being surrounded by books. I still mourn the loss of the ancient, great library in Alexandria. And the one at (I think) Trinity College in Dublin is one I would love to go to.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Now and then Terry Pratchett's appreciation for the power of words to alter the universe to the point it is potentially dangerous to lose yourself too deeply in the stacks of a library (or even the Post Office) rings very true, as it does here for Faramir and Frodo, indeed two kindred spirits both under the spell of history. Well done indeed.

Author Reply: Hantanyel for this high praise! I could lose myself just as easily. Have to work more on finding the time to do that.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :) *hugs*

You capture the magic of libraries very well, here. No wonder Faramir feels at home. A shame that Frodo cannot find similar ease there, that he is still haunted by Isildur's bane.

Author Reply: Thank you! One of my favorite sayings is something like I've always imagined paradise to be a library. Oh, to find that little one at home in that one! I think he would found peace eventually here if given the time but alas he did not have it. Too bad he had to find the one piece that could stab his heart.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

This is an interesting POV in which Frodo envisions his own tale enshrined in this ancient library. Nicely done.

Author Reply: Thank you, my dear! Glad you enjoyed!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :) *hugs*
