Elf Academy Part Deux  by Fiondil 16 Review(s)
LaikwalāsseReviewed Chapter: 13 on 1/17/2013
"You sound like Fox Mulder" - indeed! Liked how Elrohir reminded that he is still a warrior, even if you do not see it all the time and I think the ellith is doing good in not knowing what dark times the twins have behind them. I understand Glorfindel that he cannot believe that Amroth helped to train people to kill, it“s somehow not fitting, being a healer or being a member of search and rescue - yes that“s right for elves but a trainer for spies and killers? Curious who are the other agents around. Yet, I still like Alex....Lai

Author Reply: Hi Lai. One never stops being a warrior no matter how long it's been since one has actually seen battle and Serindė needed that reminder. We will learn Amroth's story eventually. It's not pretty but so it goes. And we'll learn something of the other agents eventually. I'm glad you still like Alex. There is much to like. Thanks for commenting. It's much appreciated.

You would probably not be too surprised to hear that I don't like Farrell. He could be a danger to the Academy and the Elves – probably more so than Alex, who at least wants to wait until he knows what is going on. And while I'm not an espionage expert, I still find it strange how they can't wait two weeks before interfering. To infiltrate an institution like the EA, it would take a bit longer. Someone seems to get cold feet here.

In any case, I breated a big sigh of relief when I realised that Serindë had overheard them. At least now the Elves, and most importantly Amroth, are warned that there are more people interfering – and potentially more dangerous ones than Alex.

Of course Amroth is right that Alex isn't the nice boy, but a trained killer, but still, I like him and hope he doesn't even try to harm anyone and can either join the Elves or at least leave without incident. Farrell, however ... is it very mean that I wouldn't mind too terribly if he had an accident? That one makes me worried :( How on earth are they supposed to get that Agency off their backs?

Hm, I guess to check these workers no one really notices is a possibility, there a change in staff or an unpaid extra wouldn't be so obvious. At least it's a place to start.

Author Reply: No one likes Farrell and for good reason, Kitty. He's definitely not a likeable character. As for the Agency not waiting, I'm not sure what' up with that but apparently something is or they wouldn't have acted as they have in sending Farrell in. Hopefully we'll learn the reason eventually.

I'm glad you like Alex, though. He's not perfect, but he's really a nice guy when he's not in spy-mode.

Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

Worse and worse! (Alex's predicament, not the story, Atto!) What an annoying person our ethir neth has to put up with. I will ask my Ada about the Blue Line...wonder if he went hiking when he lived in NY? Hm. Loved the tersely worded emails! Now on to the next chapter review!

Tye-melin,

Kaylee

(Atto, if I get any prompts to cross a fic with another author, may I use the Fiondilverse?
I won't hurt it, promise. I'll send you everything I write for it.
And I will put it all back when I'm done playing. *grin*)

Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. Farrell is pretty annoying and we'll see how Alex handles him in the future.

And you indeed have my permission to play in my Valarverse as your Aunt Rhyselle likes to call it, if you get any prompts that allow you to do so. Have fun.

Thanks for commenting. Tye-melin.

I just have two points.
1. Alex seriously underestimates God.
2. Please, no more elves dying (I hope).

Author Reply: Hi Tari. You're right about the first point and, as far as I know, you don't have to worry about the second. *grin* Thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate it.

I'm not liking Mr. Farrell too much - however, I'm of the belief that once you know who your enemies are they become somewhat less dangerous and you become more dangerous. Let's hope the elves feel the same way.

Love all the intrigue - now I'm trying to figure out who the other spy(ies) are!

Author Reply: Hi Ces. That seems to be the general opinion of all the reviewers concerning Mr. Farrell. But you are correct: knowing who are enemies makes you more dangerous, especially when they don't know you know. We'll see how things go with the Elves and maybe we'll also learn who the other spy(ies)are (assuming the Muse ever tells me who they are *grin*). Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

There is good reason for all to view this Farrel with concern, it appears. Now, to find out who else might be a spy amongst them! Good thought to look into the service people who work in the college as well. And are there other bugs hidden here and there throughout the place intended to be used in the gathering of information?

Author Reply: Hi Larner. Hopefully there aren't any more bugs. I'm sure Amroth is keeping tabs on that. Whether the Elves' investigation into the service people proves fruitful remains to be seen. We'll just have to wait and see what develops. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

The plot thickens. Aside from Farrell (what a nasty character), who else is a spy? Who took the pictures? I originally thought the elves planted the pictures, but they don't seem to know where they came from. Is there maybe more than one Agency and they try to outsmart each other? Seems like every spy forgot some of the basic things. Alex's boss forgot that he is in charge when deep undercover. Farrell and Alex forgot to check where they were talking... Amroth forgot to keep tabs on his surroundings. Please, don't make Derek into another spy.

Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. Derek as a spy. LOL! Now that's an idea. Of course, how to explain what Naval Intelligence is doing in Wiseman? *sly grin*

Anyway, I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

OMG, they are getting in deeper and deeper. I liked Elrohir's reminder that they were all warriors. Things have changed a lot since he and his brother were hunting orcs and killing - no, slaughtering them in the 1000's after Celebrian's captivity, but at their bottom, they are still quite capable of lifting swords and bows in defense of the innocent if necessary. It is time for the staff to become more proactive and start initiation rather than reacting. Thanks for another great chapter.

Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. They are indeed getting deeper and deeper. And while it's been a while since any of the Elves have taken up arms, once a warrior, always a warrior, as Elrohir reminds Serindė. Glad you enjoyed the chapter. I appreciate you letting me know.

Ugh! Things are turning darker and darker. I must admit, I feel uncomfortable to see our valiant Elves endangered by the Agency. They would have no problems with taking out the whole Elven bunch - yes, I know they are not so easy to kill, but I thing they might be just a mite over-confident, and we all know that over-confidence comes right before the fall. *is nervous*

Author Reply: Hi Soledad. Well, we'll have to see how the Elves handle things now that they are aware (or more aware) of what's going on. Whether you should be nervous or not remains to be seen. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it.

Oh my - if this plot gets any more thick or sticky, it will be treacle!

I really do not like Mr. Mark Farrell, and am beginning to think that somebody at The Agency has it in for Alex too. Hopefully, between Alex and Amroth now both being on their guard, they'll be able to foil the nasties!

Author Reply: Hi Lyana. It's getting pretty thick, that's for sure. *grin*

No one likes Farrell (which is the whole point). We'll see how the Elves and Alex handle him and others from the Agency as the story progresses.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.
