Of all the places Glorfindel could lose his temper, it had to be very publicly. Ts, ts, ts... that resident was out of line, but he was not completely off. I was wondering myself why they wouldn't fly Alex to Wiseman. I remember having a concussion once, and the doctor was furious that they let me walk home from school on my own and then to the doctor... Admittedly, that was a long time ago. I think Alex' fixation on having Derek nearby is a bit troublesome. Why does he need Derek around him all the time?

Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. I think in this case it's just Alex wanting another human around more than anything else and with his injuries he's not thinking too straight anyway. Thanks for reviewng. It's much appreciated.

It's really sweet that Alex is worrying about Derek even in his half-comatose state. Though it's getting a tad obsessive that he always needs him around. Still wondering what is behind that?

"Why is everything bad happening to me?" Alex asked no one in particular. That's what I want to know, too! Poor Alex, he so doesn't deserve this!

If he's concussed, then it was probably to be expected that he ended up vomiting. I'll only be really content when he's in the hospital and had some x-rays to check if he's really only bruised.

I should probably not laugh about how Glorfindel reacted to that Stoner doctor, but I couldn't help it. That was so like the Glorfindel of old! Hot-headed and losing his patience. It was probably good that his fellow Elves took him out, though he won't appreciate it when he comes to. Besides, that Stoner was a bit arrogant. Does he not know that the twins are healers of renown, too? No, obviously not. It was good someone else took over to avoid more confrontations. Stoner might have done the opposite of what was needed just out of spite ...

Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Well, in this case, with his head injury, Alex is feeling confused and frightened and just wants his gwador near him for comfort.

And Glorfindel is really near the end of his patience with everyone here. Stoner just happened to be the unfortunate who ended up being on the wrong side of Glorfindel's anger. Elrohir, though, knows just how to disfuse him. *grin*

Thanks for taking the time to read and review. It's always appreciated.

Beef broth? Why is it always beef broth? Why not chicken broth? I like chicken soup, I'm sure Alex would like it too. It tastes so much better than beef broth to me, lol. Poor Alex again. I remember being in the hospital after having my gallbladder out and ALL THEY WOULD GIVE ME was beef broth, coffee and jello. Mum drank the coffee and I couldn't get the beef broth down. The jello I managed, but the broth did not like me. *recommends jello for Alex* Chicken broth I would have liked better.

Dr. Stoner, hmm? Well, well, this is a bit of a mess and as I recall, antagonizing Dr. Stoner will not go well for Glorfi...lol. But then Dr. Stoner was being a bit of an idiot himself, so he deserved it to a point.

Tye-melin, Atto!

Kaylee

Author Reply: Yeah, beef broth isn't a favorite but it is hearty and strengthening and generally 'safe'. Dr. Stoner has much to learn and hopefully, in time, he'll be less arrogant and not assume things.

Thanks for reviewing, Kaylee. It's much appreciated. Tye-melin.

As I was reading this, I couldn't help but wonder what the elves thought every time they came accross a new invention. Driving is so different from riding a horse and then there's cell phones, etc. Adapting to changes shouldn't be hard for them though; they certainly had enough in their lives.

Author Reply: Hi Tari. Well, certainly Glorfindel and the other Elves have had plenty of practice adapting to new technologies and such through the millennia. Perhaps they even helped some of that technology along here or there. I'm glad to see you are still reading this story. Thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate it very much.

It's a good thing Alex has a lot of friends that care about him. He's not cursed with all the bad things happening to him. He just has a little bad luck here and there. I think Alex is really just starting to loosen up with all these new experiences. Like you said he was an only child with older cousins. Derek being the closest to a younger brother he never had.

Yes, I would say Glorfindel has snapped, but he should also remember that mortals are little more fragile than the elves. But then again, he does have a lot on his mind.

Elrohir was correct in both his way was more effective and that Glorfindel would not have taken the sedative without a fight. As for Dr. Stoner, I don't think he knows the elves as well as Dr. Harris so you gotta give him a break. How was he to know that Ron and the twins were doctors.

Can't wait for the next chapter.

Author Reply: Hi Clouded Leopard. Yes, it is a good thing Alex has lots of friends and he needs all of them right now. Dr. Stoner knows about the Elves but apparently doesn't know any of them personally, hence his attitude towards the Twins and Ron. Thanks for reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Elrohir's way was far more effective than valium would have been *grin*. I think that Glorfindel doesn't listen well to reasonable advice, it has to be something painful to get through to him (at least, so it seemed in Elf, Interrupted!).

Author Reply: Very effective, someone. And Glorfindel does tend not to listen unless someone beats him over the head first. *grin*

Thanks for reviewing. It's much appreciated.

LOL, ah doctor patient conflict! Code Black! Code Black! In all fairness, as a doctor, particularly one who has been the poor harrassed resident, the first reaction really would be: The patient's friends are Stupid and should stop Playing Doctor. I'd guess this poor fellow hadn't met the elves before. LOL Glorfindel & Elrohir. Someone's a tad stressed hey? Elrohir will need to hide when Glorfindel wakes up methinks.

Author Reply: Hi bookworm. Oh, I thnk Stoner knows about the Elves, but just hasn't really met them yet and is unaware of the history of some of them. He'll learn more aboout them as time goes on. And Glorfindel is more than a tad stressed. *grin* Elrohir will know to stay out of his way for a day or three until he calms down.

Thanks for leaving a comment. It's greatly appreciated.

This son of Beren has his hands full and he still is not 100% sure what the battle is about. My heart goes out toAlex.

I was going to warn you, last chapter, about Glorfindel. He needs a major vacation. *g* He hasn't had a moment's peace since the bluzzard struck. He was wound too tight then. Nothing has happened to make matters better, to help him unwind. They gave only grown worse.

I vote for some R&R for our Elf.

BTW - great chapter.

Author Reply: Hi Agape. Glorfindel definitely needs a very long vacation, but I don't know if he'll ever be able to take one give the circumstance. Alex has a lot of recovery to go through as we will see. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for letting me know. It's greatly appreciated.

Well, Stoner got his well-deserved comeuppance! Heh! Love the way they dealt with Glorfindel's reaction to his frustration and worry.

I do suspect someone of Sauron's own nature is playing with the weather in his attempt to do away with Aragorn's current bloodline, though.

Fascinating!

Author Reply: Hi Larner. We'll learn a bit more about Dr. Stoner soon enough. He will prove important to the future. Glad you liked the way they dealt with Glorfindel. It was fun to write.

You may be right about the weather being played with by inimical forces, but there's no way to prove it at this juncture.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

You know Fiondil, I think you need to sub title this story 'Or 50 Ways to Kill Your Elf Guide!'

Oh, dear I don't think I like the fact that Alex is vomiting, not a good sign.
They are at the hospital now, so he is in the best place for him. I think Glorfindel is having another of his 'Why did I think this was a good idea' regrets, silly Elf, Murphy's Law is in full force here!

Hm, Glorfindel on Vallium, could be interesting, though I think I kinda of like Elrohir's method of adminstering it, he does need to make sure he has a clear escape route for when Glorfindel wakes up though!

I take it Dr.Stoner is new to the hospital and is not aquainted with the Elves?

Two more days and I am on vacation, Yay! I get to spend time with Orclings and their Mom!

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: You're probably right about the subtitle, Lynda. LOL! And Glorfindel is feeling responsible for what has happened to Alex, which is also silly, since he had no way of knowing Alex would lose his footing and fall down the hill.

We'll learn more about Dr. Stoner soon enough.

Enjoy your time off. Thanks for reviewing. It's greatly appreciated.
