| Hm. I wonder what they did with all the cut bits? That could be a whole series of dwarven ficlets.... It was nearly three years before he presented the Arkenstone, the Heart of the Mountain, to his King. -- And how much of that three years did Borin simply gaze at it, too enrapt to think straight enough to plan its cutting? And how often did Thráin visit to get a glimpse of it? (Maybe Thráin even took it back to his quarters occasionally, to spend more time with it ... week-long, month-long visits....) | |
